Strikers Lester Peltier and Trent Noel hammered a pair of first half goals each as CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh crushed home team New Vibes of the US Virgin Islands 5-0 in their final Group D match of the Caribbean Club Championships at the Lionel Roberts Stadium on Thursday night.
The TT Pro League outfit finished top in their group with maximum points and seventeen goals without conceding, to advance to the next stage of the competition.
The ‘San Juan Kings’ punished New Vibes from as early as the 2nd minute when youngster Lester Peltier easily headed in the opening goal.
Jabloteh doubled their score in the quarter hour mark as striker Trent Noel slammed a 30 yard shot past New Vibes goal keeper. Noel wasn’t done yet as he got his second in the 23rd minute easily tapping the ball into the net for a 3-0 score.
The Terry Fenwick coached team continued to overpower New Vibes as Peltier completed his double in the 26th minute with an easy tap in after a great build-up for a 4-0 advantage.
New Vibes had a couple of half chances in the first period but goal keeper Duarance Williams made sure his 100 percent record was maintained.
The 4-0 score remained the same at the half as San Juan Jabloteh maintained total control of the match.
In the second period Coach Terry Fenwick allowed his players to relax a bit as they held the together and didn’t allow New Vibes room to create build-ups.
In the defensive mode Jabloteh went a man short as defender Ronald Primus received a red card but it didn’t do any better for the New Vibes team, they were still unable to create any chances.
Jabloteh capped off in the 90th minute when substitute Micheal Alexis dribbled past the New Vibes defence to fire in a 16yard beating the goal keeper for the 5-0 finish.
CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will now advance to the semifinals along with another TT Pro League club Vibe CT 105 W Connection who topped their Group C in Puerto Rico.
After the match Jabloteh’s manager Azad Khan spoke briefly with ‘ttproleague.com’ and said, “We took early control of the match scoring four goals by the first half. There is a vast difference between the teams we played in our group. New Vibes had a couple of half chances in the first period but just couldn’t match our plays.”
“The teams that we were grouped with looked part time and we are a professional club so you would expect these types of results. Sap FC was the only team who really gave us a tough match as they play a very physical game but it didn’t work for them,” said Khan.
The Jabloteh manager also commended top Group D scorer Trent Noel with four goals for his performance saying, “Trent’s performance during the group stage of the tournament was magnificent. His first goal against New Vibes looked was even applauded by the opposing fans,” ended Azad Khan.
The Caribbean Club Champion will be joined at the 2007 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup by the 2006 Mexican League Torneo de Apertura (TBD) and Clausura (Pachuca CF) winners, two USA teams (DC United & TBD) and three Central American teams (CD Olimpia of Honduras, Puntarenas FC of Costa Rica, TBD).

San Juan Jabloteh: – Duarance Williams, Ian Gray, Ronald Primus, Cyd Gray (Alexis Michael), Trent Noel, Kerry Baptiste, Wendell Joseph, Jason Marcano, Nigel Daniel, Lester Peltier (Aurtis Whitley), Peter Prosper (Anthony Wolfe).

Goal Scorers—Lester Peltier 2nd, 26th, Trent Noel 14th, 23rd, Michael Alexis 90th

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Well..we see Peltier in fine form for Jabloteh. Is not him who duck the Under 20s?...Steeups

And why the hell T&T teams only getting a setta red card? W connection had to win in PR with 10 men. Is this just a coincidence or is there a growing lack of discipline in T&T club ball?

seems so from here
Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.
