TT Pro League Club Vibe CT 105 W Connection managed a late 1-1 draw against Brazilian club Panapolis FC on Saturday in their second match of a two and a half week pre-season tour of the South American country.
Originally the Pro League Club was scheduled to play Brazil’s First Division Club Noroeste FC but a waterlogged field forced that match to be called off.
They then decided to play Panapolis FC the professional team of the City of Panapolis, the hometown of W Connection player, Gefferson Goulart and enjoyed a three-hour bus ride from the City of Beubauru where they are based.
Andre Toussaint was the hero on the evening denying Panapolis FC a win when he scored the equalizer with just six minutes to go. The match with was described as a more or less balanced one after the home team had the early advantage with their first half goal.
W Connection team manager Raymond Mc Lean told ‘ttproleague.com’, “We should have won the match by at least a 2-1 margin with the chances we had. Basically we had the better chances than the Brazilians but only finished the late chance by Andre Toussaint. Overall I would say the match was more or less a balanced one with the score reflecting just that.”
W Connection fielded some of their regulars after resting them in the first match against Sao Paulo 1st Division Club Rio Claro which had to be stopped half way through because of heavy rains and a waterlogged field.
The Pro League Club will continue playing matches over the next few days before they return on the 23rd of this month as they prepare for their upcoming CFU Club Championship semifinal match on the 26th.
