That is a big salary by MLS standards glen doing good
A Kid just quit Kansas city for a regular 9 to 5 job

he was making 23K in the MLS

Ruiz sign the multi year deal when he was coming into the league and it was good back then his next contract should be much better as he is now a proven goal scorer, he tried to go europe but he did not make.

in the MLS only the US National Team members make good money and the Big name has been, everyone else on chicken feed.

but to the league credit , the league is loosing money every year so it is not like the just do not want to play.

There are many players who play in the A league who refuse to play in the MLS becuase in the A league they make more money.

It is tough to make money from soccer in the US but kudos to the MLS for surviving for more than 10 years

I find Youri Djorkaeff getting real small money too, $180,000.00 And Steven Gerrard was making style on 150,000.00 POUNDS a week. There are 85 men making less than $20,000.00 a YEAR. I had to see it to believe it.

Those salaries are pretty low, but alot of the average players outside of Europe don't make anything more than that. Plus the MLS season is not even a full year season.

If the MLS tried to play players like major teams in Europe, they would be bankrupt in no time.

"MLS robbin man blind"- they're not robbin' anyone. Man head iz just get they head tief when they hear about the big salaries that major more established teams pay players. Put it in perspective and it will make sense.

Because of MLS salary cap these are base salaries players get paid in other forms as well. The fact remains if they did not play in MLS then where would they play? You could take it or leave it! Many players play football for a lot less, then they move on with life. Do you know that MLS salaries are higher than Brazil. Now not the best in Brazil but the majority. Some Brazilian players making $200. US a week others a month.
