Tier in between Cardiff & Arsenal.

National Youth team striker Lester Peltier spent four days on trial at Premiership giants Arsenal and brushed shoulders with the likes of French forward Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie.
But the CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh player is now back at Championship Division team Cardiff City and made his first appearance for them on Monday,  in a Reserve team affair with Hereford. According to reports, Peltier did sufficiently well in the first half before picking up a knock and was taken off by coaches who said they had seen enough of him to continue negotiations of a move to the club. Cardiff won the match 2-1.
But Arsenal youth director Liam Brady is also impressed with Peltier and has indicated to Jabloteh head coach Terry Fenwick that they have not taken their eyes off the former National Under 17 forward.
“He played on Monday and did enough for the coaches before they took him off at half time. They are delighted with what they have seen and have opened up talks on a deal,” Fenwick said.
“But he spent three days at Arsenal and Liam is delighted with his movement off the ball. He brushed shoulders with a lot of the first team guys even as he trained in the Academy. There was a nice touch to it as well when Thierry Henry made sure to tell him that he should make sure and sign with Arsenal because they are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“We want  to ensure that we do a deal that is best for the kid and that he is well taken care of. It’s a very interesting situation at the moment.”
Fenwick added that talks were ongoing with Cardiff, Millwall and Arsenal in that whichever club the player ends up at will form a partnership with Jabloteh.
“This by extension will be a great boost for football in Trinidad and Tobago. This is what the club is about. We have thought long and hard about football in this country and the benefits and we have decided to go the way of developing the younger players and trying to boost the country’s football,” Fenwick said.
He added that Millwall arrives in Tobago on March 22 for a mini-tournament from March 24-28 with Jabloteh and Tobago United. Ajax Amsterdam had to pull out due to the dates but have made a commitment to appear in the future.
“We are looking for another team possibly a T&T youth team and we are going to call it the CLICO Cup and this is planned to take place for the next few years,” Fenwick said.
Colonden Reef in Tobago, owned by an Englishman and M&M Business management headed by Steve Davies are among those supporting the upcoming Cup tournament.
In related news, Jabloteh and T&T World Cup team midfielder Aurtis Whitley departs here on Thursday for Vietnam where he will link up with Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL). Whitley has a contract awaiting him and will spend a few days to see whether he fancies the conditions. HAGL recently teamed up with Arsenal. The partnership will see Arsenal and HAGL share training resources and establish Arsenal's presence in the South East Asian region.
The club will also help support HAGL's technical and academy development, whilst HAGL will build on Arsenal's commercial support base in Vietnam.
Arsenal manager Arsčne Wenger recent spoke on the connection, saying "We try to extend Arsenal in many territories, but in a way where we can make a difference with our technical cooperation.”

San Juan Jabloteh Head Coach Terry Fenwick is certain of Lester Peltier earning a very attractive contract in England with either Championship Club Cardiff City or Division One Club Millwall FC.
Another Club still holding interest in the 18 year old attacking midfielder is Premiership giants Arsenal after he spent four days on trial with the Club last week and had the privilege of being in the company of French striker  and Dutchman Robin Van Persie.
Peltier along with Jabloteh teammate Jason Marcano had both left Trinidad over the Carnival weekend for England on trial with Division One Club Millwall FC.
Speaking to ‘ttproleague.com’ a thrilled Fenwick said, “Everywhere Peltier has been over the last few weeks in England, he has done extremely well. They are all delighted in him and all want to sign him,” said the Englishman.
Peltier spent time with Millwall FC, Cardiff City, Arsenal and is presently back with Championship Division team Cardiff as his English trial continues.
With all the options available to the midfielder, Fenwick is now looking to grab the best offer for both Peltier and for Jabloteh.
“Peltier is now back at Cardiff City and made his first appearance for them on Monday in a Reserve team affair with Hereford. The coaches are delighted with what they have seen and have opened up talks on a deal,” said Fenwick.
“We are now looking to the best offer available for Peltier. Wherever he signs should be good for him and will also benefit San Juan Jabloteh,” assured the Pro League coach.
Cardiff is currently sixth on the English Championship table, four points behind third placed Sunderland, the Club of Dwight Yorke, Stern John and Carlos Edwards.
According to Fenwick Arsenal’s Youth Director Liam Brady is also impressed with the Trinidad and Tobago national under-20 player.
“At Arsenal they were delighted with his movement off the ball. He brushed shoulders with a lot of the first-team guys even as he trained in the academy. There was a nice touch to it as well when Thierry Henry made sure to tell him that he should make sure and sign with Arsenal because they are one of the biggest clubs in the world. We want to ensure that we do a deal that is best for the kid and he is well taken care of. It's a very interesting and delicate situation at the moment,” he said.
Fenwick added that whichever club his player ends up at will form a partnership with the Pro League Club, CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh.
“This, by extension, will be a great boost for football in Trinidad and Tobago. This is what the club is about. We have thought long and hard about football in this country and the benefits and we have decided to go the way of developing the younger players and trying to boost the country's football,” ended the former England player.

Arsenal want to sign Trinidad and Tobago striker Lester Peltier according to reports over the weekend. 18 year old Peltier has been thought to be attracting the attentions of Cardiff City but Arsenal now look certain to move for the promising youngster.
Peltier currently plays for San Juan Jabloteh who are coached by former England international Terry Fenwick. Fenwick told the News of the World: "Cardiff want Lester and we told Liam Brady at Arsenal they could have him for a few days"
Arsenal currently have on their roster two players with T&T roots in 16 year old defender Gavin and his older brother Justin Hoyte (23) which could make Lester move a more comfortable one.

Well yes, Whitley going to Viet Nam.

I find like we players have some kinda link with ovah deh, wonder who is the manager between Avery and Aurtis.

No disrespect eh, but I feel a move to Vietnam is a backward move.

We are equal, if not better than them in all aspects of football.

These fellas should be playing with better clubs.

Something really wrong with the players attitude or their managers for real.

At the end of the day, it dont matter where u from, how old u are, etc etc, if u good enough, u will play for a good team.

Look at what Larson is doing these days...

Ah glad Aurtis up to something but ah not sure he has the level headness to stomach a li'l hardship and sacrifice away from home. I personally would be glad if he leaves this country at all costs as there is too much rude-bwoyism to pull him dong here.

I really wish Peltier could sign. He is a quality player and his head is in the right place.

Whitley expected to sign with Vietnamese Club
Source: TTproleague

CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and World Cup midfielder Aurtis Whitley is expected to sign a one year deal with Vietnamese Club Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) and would leave Trinidad on Wednesday for Vietnam.

Coach Terry Fenwick of the San Juan based team told ‘ttproleague.com’, “We have been working on this contract for some time now and things are now in place for Whitley to travel to Vietnam. Hoang Anh Gia Lai has offered him a one year contract with the option of renewing.”

“So, he has a contract awaiting him and will spend a few days in Vietnam to see whether or not he fancies the conditions before signing,” said Fenwick.

According to the Pro League Coach, the arrangement between Jabloteh and the Vietnamese Club (HAGL) is a financially enormous one, but he is not at liberty to reveal its contents.

He also added, “This is a great move for Whitley, (HAGL) has a very big UK partner in the world of football. They have teamed up with Premiership Club, Arsenal,” said the former England player.

The partnership will see Arsenal and HAGL share training resources and establish Arsenal's presence in South-East Asia.

Whitley would be accompanied on his Vietnamese trip by newly appointed manager of San Juan Jabloteh, Wesley Webb a former Jabloteh and W Connection player.

On Webb’s appointment Fenwick said, “Wesley is the man for the job. He is not just a good administrator but has also done well as a player hence my reason for appointing him as team manager.”

“He would travel with Whitley to Vietnam and make sure everything goes well for the player,” ended the Jabloteh coach.

No disrespect to Vietnam, but what is the standard of football across there? I cyah see this as being a progressive move for Whitley. Is best he look for a league 1 or 2  side in England and try to work himself up the ladder. At least he will get some more exposure than in Vietnam.

The Vietnam professional league is called the V-League. Hoŕng Anh Gia Lai is arguably the most successful team in Vietnam.

Recently, the team signed an agreement with Arsenal FC to open a youth academy in Pleiku. HAGL will also be the main contributor of Arsenal merchandise in Southeast Asian area.

As mentioned by Teflon Don, they did win the V-League a couple times and made appearances in Asia Championship.

If they continue to have the success they had in the past, and making more Asia Championship appearances with Aurtis being their most outstanding player, then there is a good possibility of him moving to big clubs in Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea or even China (where the league is more organized and the standard of play is better).

All is all, I think the move by Aurtis can help him move on to better leagues. I wish him all the best.

Yes he did. With 1 or 2 championship division teams. I think some teams were interested in signing him but I do not know what happened.
