T&TAYSO and Min. of Sport host youth tournament.

This year Trinidad and Tobago American Youth Soccer Organization (T&TAYSO) and the T&T Football Federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Sport will be hosting its first Open Regional Football Tournament entitled  “Soca Soccer.”
The tournament is geared towards coaching schools and school football teams and will run from April 1-5 at the Arima Velodrome.
The action includes  exhibition games for the Under 6 to Under 10 age groups and Tournament games for the Under 12, Under 15 and Under 19 age groups. All games are scheduled to run from 5:00pm – 9:00pm each night at the Velodrome.
Prizes consist of Medals, Trophies and Sporting Gear for participating teams. Participating teams include the National Under 15 and Under 19 Women’s Football Teams, St. Augustine Senior Comprehensive School Football team, Providence Girls High School Football team, Holy Cross College Football team Hillview College Football team and Memphis FC just to name a few.
The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) program was first introduced to Trinidad by Jack Warner in 2002 and is members of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) with International affiliates FIFA, CONCACAF and the US Soccer Federation.
The Trinidad and Tobago American Youth Soccer Organization (T & T AYSO) is a volunteer one run by locals and governed by elected board members. It caters  to Youth Development through the game of soccer, with the interaction between parents and children under the motto “EVERYONE PLAYS!”
Teams wishing to participate can either contact Dixie Ann Dickson at 687-2022, Alana Hamilton at 766-6575, or our Regional Commissioner, Dale Toney at the numbers listed below. Deadline date for submission of registration is Friday 23rd March at 3.00pm. The Tournament also consists of a tour to the La Vega Estate on the 1st April for all participating teams. Buses leave the Larry Gomes car park at 8:00am SHARP! There will also be special gate prizes and halftime events for children in the stands.

Dont understand the name

Why have the American in the name, is this for Trinidadians living in america or did they insist that we have to have american in the name if we are using their model.

it seems kind of weird to me

Without the A you can't have a PLAYSOCCER bumper sticker, that's why  ;D The only other international program they mention is in Moscow

First ‘Soca Soccer’ series Sunday

TRINIDAD and Tobago American Youth Soccer Organisation (T&TAYSO) and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) together with the Ministry of Sport will stage their first open regional football tournament entitled “Soca Soccer.”

The action is scheduled to begin on April 1 and continues until April 5 at the Arima Municipal Stadium, Arima.

Exhibition games for the under-six to under-10 age groups and under-12, under-15 and under-19 age groups will open the tournament.

All games are scheduled to run from 5 pm to 9 pm each night.

Teams expected to compete are the national under-15 and under-19 women’s football teams, St Augustine Senior Comprehensive football team, Providence Girls’ football team, Holy Cross, Hillview and Memphis FC.
