Jemmott strikes for Rangers.
By: Ian Prescott (Express).
Kerwyn Jemmott scored a goal worthy to win a final, but Superstar Rangers had to defend for long periods in the second half before reaching the Courts Pro Bowl Final, where they play Vibe CT105 W Connection on Friday at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
Jemmott's early goal, scored after just four minutes, was sufficient to give Rangers a 1-0 victory over Defence Force in the opening semi-final on Friday night at the southern venue.
The goal resulted from a well-worked move that saw Ricardo Aleong push the ball from the right flank to striker Errol McFarlane Junior in the penalty area. McFarlane allowed the ball to run wide where Jemmott met it on the left with a low shot across Defence Force goalkeeper Selwyn George.
The Army-Coast Guard combination almost responded in the eighth minute when striker Devon Jorsling struck an upright with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Defence Force turned up the heat in the second half and even had a chance in the final minute when Jorsling broke through on the right flank, eluded substitute keeper Jhonny Ortiz, but had his shot deflected off the body of striker Joseph Peters.
