Congratulation to Citeh-they scored, defended and won when they needed to. We didn't score, didn't defend and lost when we needed to. The story of our season-not good enough when it mattered.

On to next season-the challenge is on! I wouldn't mind them selling Rooney-think he is on his way down!
Go sell crazy somewhere else, I am all stocked up over here!

Congrats to city, hopefully the league will be more competitive. However, how many teams can shell out that amount of money for players to win the league?

Condolences to the Man Utd faithful on here.

Man Utd did very well to push Man City all the way down to stoppage time at the Etihad on the final day of the season.

Man Utd is a great club with a proud history and Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the greatest managers in the history of English football.

Congratulations to the Man Utd team on a superb end to Utd's season.

Thank you.  :beermug:

So there was that earlier article with Gaitan, Ferguson observed watching Kagawa and strong rumors about James Rodriquez.

Plus Hazard apparently proclaim that he going to either City or United.

Any one of these will be a good addition.

Scholes re-sign for a year but still no talk about a deep-lying playmaker to replace him.
THE WARRIORS WILL NOT BE DENIED.

Not hopeful about midfield reinforcements. In this article, Ferguson seems to think that Carrick is the answer  >:(

I wonder sometimes what he sees on the field, especially the bit about them never been overrun...

Boss clear on midfield

Sir Alex has reacted to the suggestion that he should be looking to invest in a holding midfielder during the close season.

The Manchester United boss has explained that he has never used a player to fill that specific role and cited Barcelona’s former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas as evidence that the most effective performers in the middle of the park need not be destroyers.

“If you look at the examples, Fabregas was one of the best midfield players in England for five years but he wasn’t a big lad and wasn’t a holding player,” said Sir Alex. “He was an attacking player. Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta are small players – you can’t call them holding players.

"I don’t think we’ve had a holding player since I’ve been here. We’ve never had a holding player.

“We tried to get Roy Keane to do that but he just couldn’t do it. He had to play a way that was his own way of playing, so I’ve not had it for 25 years. Why should I think about it now?”

In terms of midfield options, the manager expects Michael Carrick to build on a fine personal campaign and flourish with increased responsibility in the coming years.

“I think Michael Carrick has had his best season at the club,” he added. “I’m very hopeful now he will have an authority that will stand us in good stead for the next two or three years. That will be an important role for Michael, to replace Paul Scholes in that department.

“I always think he starts the season slowly but when we started putting him and Scholes together all the time, it’s a sensible combination in terms of both using the ball and their ability to take the ball. It gave us a central part of the pitch that was very strong.

"I haven’t seen them over-run. Against [Manchester] City, they were the best two players we had."

Is de kit for NEXT season. Do the maths.
The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today are Christians who acknowledge Jesus ;with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

Manchester United's net debt up by £26m as income falls nearly 6%

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/17/manchester-united-debt-glazers

Manchester United's net debt has risen by £26m and total revenue is down 5.8%, according to quarterly figures released by the club. The figures also reveal that the Glazer family spent the equivalent of more than £250,000 a day – which amounts to Wayne Rooney's weekly salary – on a £71m buyback of bonds and on interest payments over the past nine months.

Critics of the club's American owners argue such money should be spent on buying players and the revelations will cause further anger among fans, who view the heavy leveraging of United by the Glazers as affecting their ability to compete with Manchester City, the new champions, in the transfer market.

While United's accounts say gross debt has dropped by £61.2m from £484.5m to £423.3m, a 12.6% reduction, this is countered by the club's cash falling from £113m to £25.6m – a reduction of £87.4m – meaning the former champions are £26m worse off than 12 months ago.

The 5.8% fall in total revenue – from £75.2m to £70.8m – reflects United's exit from the Champions League at the group stage.

Ferguson wants to rebuild his Manchester United team again
Big offer made for Kagawa, Lewandowski and Hummel
Eden Hazard, his first reinforcement
D. RUIZ 05/15/2012
PrintSend

After the fiasco of losing out on the Premier league in dramatic style, Ferguson has started to wave his magic wand and rebuild his team for the umpteenth time at the helm of Manchester United. The Scot will be closely monitoring the summer transfer market for the reinforcements he needs to revitalise his team, which has become far too dependent on Wayne Rooney and his goals.
Ferguson has been watching Borussia Dortmund, and is apparently considering making an offer to the current German champion for three of its players: Kagawa (from Japan), Lewandowski (Poland) and Hummels (Germany). According to the British press, the club is prepared to put up €62 million. However, the Rhur-based club has no intention to sell the German international centre-half or its goal-scorer.
The situation with Kagawa, however, is different. Dortmund confirmed recently that he will leave the club this summer, although at the moment his destination is unknown. Ferguson sees the Japanese player as the ideal back-up for Paul Scholes, who renewed his contract for another year yesterday. One player who will be playing for the Red Devils next year is the Belgian, Eden Hazard, after announcing that he will sign for the club last night.

United Reserves vs. Man City Reserves on now
1 - 0 to United at half time. Pogba's on the field. Will Keane with the goal. Good striker, that.

No movement on Berbatov
By ESPN staff

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed there is currently no deal in the pipeline which would see Dimitar Berbatov leave Manchester United, but confirmed Paul Pogba is to join Juventus and hit out at a lack of respect from the French midfielder.

Berbatov has become increasingly marginalised at Old Trafford and started only three matches after the turn of the year with a further three appearances from the bench. Despite sharing the Premier League golden boot with Carlos Tevez in 2010-11, he made only 12 league appearances last season though still managed to score seven goals.

Although Berbatov was out of contract this summer United had a year's extension in their favour, which means the club will hope to recoup at least some of the £30.75 million fee they paid to Tottenham Hotspur four years ago.

There had been interest in the 31-year-old from clubs in the Bundesliga, where Berbatov spent five successful seasons with Bayer Leverkusen, but there have been no concrete offers. Turkish club Galatasaray have indicated they want to sign the striker too.

"I don't think I treated Dimitar unfairly but he can feel disappointed that he didn't get more football," he told MUTV. "He's a fantastic footballer. It wasn't a great season for him last season, partly because I settled more with Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck... and Chicharito [Javier Hernandez].

"He's a fantastic talent. Nothing has happened with Dimitar and he'll join the tour to South Africa and China."

United's pre-season tour begins with two games in South Africa against AmaZulu FC and Ajax Cape Town before they move on to China to face Shanghai Shenhua, Norway where they will play Valerenga, Sweden to take on Barcelona and finishing in Germany against Hannover 96.

Although Berbatov remains a United player for now, there is still the chance that he could leave over the course of the transfer window.

Pogba, meanwhile, is to join Juventus after the Serie A champions' long pursuit for his services. Sir Alex was fuming about the player's conduct, saying: "Paul Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we're aware. I don't think he showed us any respect at all.

"I'm quite happy that if they carry on that way, they're probably better doing it away from us.''

Another promising young player, Ezekiel Fryers, is also out of contract and although he has been offered a new deal the Red Devils are currently in the dark as to whether he will return.

"We haven't heard anything from Zeki Fryers,'' Sir Alex added. "I don't know what's happening there but he's not been in touch with the club. His agent hasn't been in touch with the club and I can only assume he'll be back for training.''

Sir Alex brought Pogba into the first team picture in March as rumours of a move to Italy grew. But it became clear that was not enough to keep the France Under-19 international, who United signed from Le Havre in 2009, and he did not feature in the first team squad again after being an unused substitute against Wigan on April 11.

There could yet be more new faces coming in, following on from the signings of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund and Nick Powell from Crewe Alexandra.

"Yes, there's a possibility," said Sir Alex. "We're working on one or two things but there's nothing really to tell you to be honest.

"We always try to get our work done at the end of the season - we spent a good deal of time sorting the deal with Shinji and we'd agreed a deal with Nick Powell before the play-offs which was a good move by us because the boy had an outstanding final at Wembley.

"When you don't get deals done immediately and you're negotiating with a club over a long period, then you can't expect to just snap your fingers and get it done."
