13 teams, that must be a record, and a good sign. Does this mean that there is a greater interest in women's football by female players? I wonder what's spurring their interest - is it a genuine love for the game, or the lure of US scholarships. Nevertheless, according to Andre or whoever does say it, "ah love it"

This is a good development for the Women's game, but just out of curiosity, how does one organise a 13 team tournament ?

The Tobago side, Bellaforma Angeles, is the one the WN kits went to, to use as an alternate kit. If anyone happens to see them play in the pink with black stripe take a pic please.

By: Express

Thursday, July 26th 2007

DEFENDING champions Real Dimension got off to a rampant start in the Trinidad and Tobago Women's Football League, beating UWI by a huge 8-1 margin.

Getting goals for the defending league and knockout champions were Niasha Reyes (two), Alania Burgin (two), Bianca Walker (two), Jerneil Nivet and Alana Lum York.

Ashley Alonzo got a consolation goal for the outgunned university girls.

The 2007 Women's Football League is in its second week of action, involving 15 teams, the largest number ever registered in league history.

There are seven teams in the Premier Division, including Joe Public, Real Dimension, Petrotrin, Vandykes, Eugene Construction Central United, Bellaforma Angels (Tobago) and UWI.

The First Division comprises of the newer teams in the league: Jabloteh, Eugene Construction Fire Services, Defence Force, North Coast, Rio Claro, Pt Fortin Pioneers, Netshakers and Malick Gladiators.

I always thought it was Jane Public, but maybe they changed it recently.

Angels win two more matches
By: Tobago News

Friday, September 14th 2007

Bella Forma Angels secured two more victories in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation Ladies Division League Championship tournament and they now seem to be getting their act together, after a very poor start. They lost their first four games.

They followed up their midweek victory against Vandyke with a three-nil triumph against UWI at the Dwight Yorke Stadium training ground on Sunday. They got a goal each from Tamara Murray and Krista Winchester in the first half, while Karen Forbes sealed the issue for the home team in the second half.

Their next game will be on September 29 against Central United.

Am I the only one who has ever thought "Joe Public" to be a misnomer?  Even growing up in TnT I knew it as 'John' Public.

...but I guess the Brits say Joe.

Real Dimension go after UWI again
By: Express

Saturday, September 15th 2007

REAL DIMENSION, the defending league and knockout champions, are expected to have little trouble seeing off UWI, in one of two second round league matches to be played in the Trinidad & Tobago Women's Football League today.

UWI usually come away with a handful of goals against them from their meetings with Real Dimension and nothing is expected to change today.

A more competitive match-up takes place between Vandykes and EC Central United, both mid-table teams, who meet at the Edinburgh 500 ground, Chaguanas.

T&T WOMEN'S FOOTBALL LEAGUE MATCHES:

Premier Division

4 p.m.-Vandykes v Central United, Edinburgh 500

4 p.m.-UWI v Real Dimension, Harvard Ground
