Local All Star & Foreign All Star teams selected.
« on: November 24, 2007, 06:00:13 AM »
Shabazz, Fevrier to coach All Stars.
By: Randy Bando (ttproleague).
[/size]

It was decided by the TT Pro League that Caledonia AIA head coach Jamaal Shabazz and W Connection’s coach Stuart Charles Fevrier will lead the technical staffs for the TT Pro League’s Local and Foreign All Star teams which will represent at the Shaka Hislop Tribute Cup.
Initially it was said that the top local and top foreign coach at the end of Round Three would be selected as the coaches to represent the All Stars teams which will represent at the two-day tournament including FC Dallas and Clube Atletico Paranaense.
Coach Terry Fenwick of League leaders San Juan Juabloteh and Coach Jamaal Shabazz of second positioned Caledonia were the expected picks for the coaching positions.
But in a decision made by the TT Pro League Board of Directors, Fenwick was cut from the assignment as he is currently serving a three-match ban for abusive language to a referee.
Fenwick is also involved in an ongoing investigation against him after Joe Public head coach Michael Mc Comie alleged that he had used racists remarks after the final of the 2007 Toyota Classic final on November 2, which the Jabloteh coached denied.
However Shabazz and Fevrier will have to responsibilities of selecting their technical staff from among the TT Pro League coaches and staff for the tournament.
They will then proceed to selecting a 20-man squad from a shortlist of (31) thirty-one players both on the local and foreign squads.
Both squads of thirty-one will train on Wednesday and Thursday before the final cut is made, and go into camp for the Shaka Hislop Tribute Cup.
The TT Pro League All Stars teams will host Dallas FC of the MLS and Atletico Paranaense of the Brazilian League for the Shaka Hislop Tribute Cup. The matches will kick off at 6:00pm and 8:00pm on Friday 30th November and 4:00pm and 6:00pm on Sunday 02nd December at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Coops, there is actually many more foreign players in T&T at the moment but only 31 was shorlisted for these 3 games.

Lester Peltier, Carlon Murray, Shane Calderon, Elton John, Kevon Carter, Conrad Smith, Simeon Augustus, Dwayne Jack, Abiola Clearance, Husani Thomas, Keyode Legall and Anthony Wolfe (A League over) eh get pick. ? Other than that, decent call ups.

Is Nigel Daniel is injured out ?

Radanfah Abu Bakr didn't go back to England (school) though.

Leslie Fitzpatrick cant even make this side.

Not one player from Police.

Question is what % of the foreign players in the league were selected on the foreign all star team....I might be way off but my guess is that it's a pretty high percentage- if so, does it kinda dilute the meaning of "all-star" ?

I guess the cut from 31 to 20 players adds a little more credibility.

Should be some nice games nevertheless.....

I'm a bit puzzled but when they say foreign it means they were not born in T&T/another country, yes or no? well what happen to T&T players?

If all these so called "foreigners" playing in TT, then the league must have money. The stadiums never sell out for any of those game. Where is all the money coming from to pay all the players, foreign and domestic.

Sorry to say this Deeks, but Caledonia not loaded wit' money ... yet, and they had to rely on hungry but cheap discount labour  .. de Guyanese boys that fill dey ranks. North East stars I think had done something similar. Doh worry, as the spoils of the different Cups share around, Caledona and the others will eventually make a big sell with the likes of Radanfah to Swansea and start breaking into the big money league with W Connection.

I hope those "all stars" boys put on a good performance against the visiting teams. Aim is to showcase local and "foreign" local-based and get some of those players sold. Get this football economy rolling so better calibre players from S america and soon to retire marquee players and maybe li'l skillful yout' from Honduras or so gradually infiltrate the league.

Alyuh ent read the play or what?

This is a screener to sell players.

All who have contract pending, trial pending or arrangements made for second look in foreign not in the squad.

The rest is players who have potential to get transferred by Dallas or the Brazil side.

The only old men in the squad is Cyd and Oliver.

As for the foreign based all stars they putting more of them on show to get rid of them faster. The quicker a team sells one, they get to pay wages to the rest of the team for a yr.

Its a business first and a friend game after. It is who you know and who like you and who will push for you.

Shabazz and Fevrier making or breaking these fellas future here.
