The Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation has sent two of its national team managers to partake in the inaugural Team Manager’s Workshop in Los Angeles being hosted by CONCACAF in collaboration with the United States Soccer Federation.
On Thursday, National Senior Team manager David Muhammad and National Under 20 team manager Ashley Mungal were accompanied by Cheryl Abrams to LA for the workshop which will have a total of 68 Team Managers representing 34 CONCACAF National Associations over three days.
The Team Managers will hear presentations from the U.S. Soccer Federation staff speakers (Tom King – Managing Director of Administration; Mike Gressle – Director of Marketing & Communications; Jim Moorhouse – Director of Youth National Teams; Hughie O’Malley – Sports Medicine Administration Manager) in order to obtain an overview of the Team Manager’s Role as well as how to raise the quality of Team Administration within its own respective National Association.
Both Moorhouse and King were in Trinidad in 2006, at the invitation of Jack Warner, to deliver presentations and round the table talks with the T&T management team prior to its appearance at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
“This workshop is ideal for our member countries and it’s our attempt at preparing all countries to handle the international game from an administrative standpoint. The game is much more than what you see happening with the players out on the playing field,” Warner told TTFF Media.
“We are fortunate to have such a workshop in collaboration with our partners at the US Soccer Federation who are among the best when it comes to management. I do hope too that all of our countries, particularly those in the Caribbean, will take away every bit of what is available to them from this workshop," Warner said.
“The CONCACAF Team Manager’s Workshop is the first of its kind in this region and with almost every National Association in attendance, I know it will be a great success,” added Chuck Blazer, CONCACAF General Secretary. “This workshop is an excellent opportunity for our CONCACAF members to benefit from the administrative and informative skills provided by the U.S. Soccer Federation this weekend.”

The workshop will also focus on a number of important issues.
