Manners, Forbes Schools top footballers.
T&T Guardian Reports.

Inspirational attacker Elijah Manners (male) and creative player Karyn Forbes (female) have been named “Players of the Year” of the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL).
The duo received their awards yesterday at the SSFL closing ceremony at Rudrinath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, Couva.
Manners, the team captain of San Juan Senior Comprehensive, played a leading role in helping his school to win the Big Five national title (beat Naparima 1-0 in final) and the East Zone crown.
Affectionately called “Lala”, Manners, a Sixth Form student, not only enjoyed a successful season with San Juan, but also with the reserve team of CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh where he was chosen “Most Valuable Player” and the scorer of the most goals.
Manners, who lives at Lower Santa Cruz and was a member of the national youth team, has been described as a talented player, inspirational leader and well-rounded person.
Forbes was one of the heroes of Signal Hill, which dethroned Malick as the champion women’s team of the SSFL. Like Manners, she is also a member of the national women’s Under-17 squad.

San Juan Secondary standout Elijah Manners is the BGTT Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Player of the Year.
The inspirational midfielder, who skippered the San Juan school to the SSFL East Zone and Big Five titles, was handed the honour at the League's prize distribution ceremony at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre in Couva on Friday evening.
Naparima College, who captured their sixth national RBTT InterCol title in December, led the way with five picks on the SSFL All Star team, with the Southern champions' midfielder Keston Smith being named one of the five Players of the Year.
Joining Manners and Smith in the five-man Player of the Year shortlist were El Dorado striker Jamaal Gay, St Augustne's Daniel Joseph and Fatima College defender Sheldon Bateau.
For the girls, Karyn Forbes of Tobago Zone and National Intercol winners Signal Hill was named Player of the Year, but she, like many of her counterparts from Tobago, was not on hand to accept the award.
Malick claimed four of the picks on the girls' All Star team, including a posthumous selection for Jameliah Layne, who was killed in a car accident on New Year's Day.
The SSFL also honoured Stanley Lee Pow and Roy Jagroopsingh for their contributions to the league over the years.
