Dunfermline Press

THE Pars are to take on Trinidad & Tobago national champions San Juan Jabloteh in an East End Park friendly on Tuesday, 18th March.

The Port of Spain-based team are in Scotland to play Celtic as part of a new three-year tie-up between the two clubs and wanted to play another Scottish team while they're over here.

Managed by former Tottenham and England centre back Terry Fenwick, the San Juan Kings as they're known are the current Trinidad & Tobago professional football league champions.

Former Dundee United striker Collin Samuel played for the Kings before coming to Scotland to sign for Falkirk while Raith Rovers and former Livingston and Rangers defender Marvin Andrews is also a former player.

Four of the Kings stars were in the Trinidad & Tobago squad in Germany that took England all the way in the 2006 World Cup.

Most of the current squad is drawn from Trinidad & Tobago but they do boast one famous name: listed as squad number 31 is striker Elton John!

Founded in 1974, the club play at the 26,000-capacity Hasely Crawford Stadium. Ticket details for the match will be announced in the next few days.

Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.

Don't laugh yet,  ;) that young fella is a good player, he completyely dominated SSFL and got a starting spot on Jab's 1st. team. Not as mobile as Marcano, but definitely one for the future.

SSFL is not the best no doubt, but that is unfortunately where most if not all of our good young ballers play. He has really good distribution ability and is not afraid to tackle or shoot. He is not Latas or Yorke but he is among the best of the new PL players that are young and hungry and willing to work. He lil nashy and had not fully adapted from schoolboy football straight to Jablo 1st team in 2007, BUT he have real ability.

I saw a few games where he was not so good, but how many schoolboys besides Hyland have cracked the starting line of what was to become the PL champion team right out of SSFL? I trust Jabloteh's eye when it comes to recognizing young talent, they have a long track record of such, obviously saw something in him. Hopefully he will live up to that potential, we need all we can get.
