Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) officials met with Sports Minister Gary Hunt at the Ministry of Sport offices yesterday to discuss matters relating to the use of stadiums for international matches, as well as T&T's hosting of the 2010 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Championship.
According to T&TFF president Oliver Camps, there were positives resulting from yesterday's meeting.
A second meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday regarding the rental of the stadiums by the T&TFF for upcoming international matches, particularly those in the semi-final round of the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
"We met for close to two hours and the meeting was a cordial one with good discussions. But at this time there have been no final decisions relating to the use of the stadia, but there is definitely something in the works and we will meet again next week to have further discussions aimed at a resolution of this ongoing dispute.
"There will also be more to be discussed regarding the Women's World Cup, which has to go to Cabinet in due course," Camps added.
The T&TFF last week secured permission from FIFA and the United States Soccer Federation for use of a venue in the United States for T&T's future World Cup qualifiers, starting with the clash with Guatemala on September 6, pending a resolution of the matter regarding the use of the local stadiums.
