« on: February 11, 2009, 05:13:29 AM »
Salvadoran Government to pay players $10,000 dollars a goal.

El Salvador President Elias Antonio Saca visited the El Salvadoran football stadium Cuscatlan, San Salvador yesterday during a training session on the eve of the game against Trinidad and Tobago.

President Elias Antonio Saca has promise each player who score a goal against Trinidad and Tobago in today's World Cup qualifier a sum of $10,000 dollars. "President Elias Antonio Saca said "In addition to the outpouring of support for the match against Trinidad and Tobago he announced that the Salvadoran Government would give each player the monetary condition of scoring goals. The money is distributed to all players, including coaches, who make up the official team that will dispute the hexagonal.

Furthermore, the President confirmed his arrival at the stadium tomorrow at seven in the evening to observe the game. "I do not mind the score, I just settle with a win," were the words of the President. As far as safety is concerned, a plan called "Going for Global 2010 will be implemented by Civil Protection at the Estadio Cuscatlan. This provides a mobile unit FOSALUD, seven ambulances, a team from the Fire Department and distributed about 100 paramedics in the entire sport.

The US$ is the official currency of El Salvador.

So that would be US$10K per goal...or T&T$60,000

Wikipedia says they have been using USD since 2001.

The former currency was the colón. It was replaced at a rate of 8.75 to 1 USD in 2001.

The Salvadorian colon (SVC) is divided into 100 centavos. While colones are still accepted, the primary currency of El Salvador is the U.S. Dollar (USD). The colon had been produced in 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200 colones, but is no longer being printed in an effort to eventually make the dollar the only currency circulating in El Salvador. Preceding the colon was the peso, which was a decimalized currency, but the colon replaced it in 1892.

He sound like he and Jack is lime in the same circles, making promises before games that they doh plan to keep.

The US currency has been the official currency of El Salvador since 2001. It is used Nationwide.

However, the cost of living is extremely high in El Salvador.

Nevertheless, they pay their professional players in El Salvador very well. Especially CD Fas; where the lowest paid player gets $1500US monthly and highest paid player getting as much as $7000US a month. This was the figures 4 years ago. It may have gone up or gone down (I don't know).

I would hope our highest paid professional players could be close to a $25000 to $30 000 TT, so it is comparable especially if men getting housing allowance or something.

But the figures also show that it hardly have somewhere in the world where u getting more than a month's salary just to score a goal. Maybe the world cup final or in saudia arabia or qatar

Keon Daniel could have done that for us if other teams would foul outside the box and Dwight would let the local based take the free kicks. We have a left footer in Daniel and right footer in Spann who is free kick specialist.

We have 6' 7 Lawrence, 6' 4 Hislop and Kenwyne, Stern and Dwight...3 brilliant headers of the ball. Please somebody, tell my why none of our coaches ever make us train set pieces whole day when we training? We should be killing side off of every set piece going forward and we at sixes and sevens defendign against them so obviously it would help both attack and defense. Just spend the whole day before a game on set pieces, it is a somewhat light session! Steups....

Salvadoran ballers went on strike earlier this week claiming incentive money promised to them for qualifying for the HEX should have been paid by March 15 ... on the other side of the fence, de Federation president says he's already invested $US 800K in de squad (I eh see no evidence of him disputing dey money claim) ... buh he saying $US 800k is ah lot and dey shouldn't be reacting so at this critical juncture ... Coachman bawlin ... is now allyuh going an strike? On de eve of a match-up versus de US? He saying dahis giving an already strong team an advantage ...
