Vessigny take lead in South Zone.
By: Mark Pouchet (Express)

South Zone leaders Vessigny Secondary beat Moruga Composite 4-1 yesterday to go to the top of the South Zone on goal difference in the Championship Division of the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League. The new South leaders got a double from Akeem Collins in the 18th and 58th minutes plus single strikes from Kyle Blackman in the 23rd and Khalid Commissiong in the 27th. Jesse Edwards pulled back a consolation goal five minutes from time for the hosts. With this victory, Vessigny and Naparima both ended the first round on 12 points but Vessigny have a better goal difference.
Princes Town Senior Comprehensive are still third on 11 points after their 4-1 win over Fyzabad Composite at home. Prolific goalscorer Kirlan Gomez notched a double in the 60th and 81st minutes. Kimo Narcis extended the lead in the 63rd minute and Sato Eriche completed the scoring in the 75th minute.
At Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Mayaro registered their first win of the season when they came from two goals down to beat St Benedict's 4-3.
San Juan rip 'Green Machine'
By: Mark Pouchet (Express)

San Juan Secondary slammed defending zonal champions St Augustine Secondary 6-1 at their Bourg Mulatresse home ground to extend their lead at top the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) East Zone. The current zonal leaders are now on a maximum18 points and put themselves five points clear of El Dorado who were on a bye.
In Arima, Hillview College, led by former Eldo assistant coach John Henry, got the better of the hosts 3-1.
The San Juan run has been a tremendous one, as they have now gone unbeaten in the six games they have played to date. They have only been really kept close, unexpectedly, by Malabar Composite in a 2-1 affair back September 10.
There was nothing close about yesterday's game.
The Green Machine's inconsistent form cropped up again and caused them to be hammered at the hands of the very hungry San Juan side. They remain locked on 10 points.
San Juan will be thinking that if they can keep up their momentum, their drought of East zone titles will be at the end of this season. They romped to a 3-1 lead at the half-time interval with Green Machine striker Shastri Spencer's penalty conversion barely keeping St Augustine in the game.
But they failed to contain the threat from the homesters who saw Anthony Guppy netting a hat trick of goals, the last of which was a scorcher that rattled the net after a late and futile acrobatic attempt by St Augustine Secondary keeper Jonathan Chance in the dying minutes of the match.

Boy.  Central Zone playing tennis.  What standard of football is that?  They need to merge that zone with the south and east again.  Relegate the weak hearts and send the better teams to those zones, according to logistics.  Presentation College used to be a real threat when they were in the East Zone.  Right now, Carapachima and Pres. Chaguanas need some sterner tests.
