My info is Thomas Boyd (Scottish fellah) who also helped found the Clydesdale FC did it in around 1897 when he sent back to the UK for some football bladders. He then became the first president of TAFA which he helped found in 1908.

Here he is middle on the left

He's probably somewhere in this picture too, those are founding members of Clydesdale:

You half right e-man, you got the year wrong.

Football was introduced to Trinidad in 1927 by Scottish Born Thomas Boyd who came to Trinidad as a manager.

I never know Thomas actually played for T&T national team in 1908. I know he was T&T football President in that same year.

E-man that picture you have their is a fake, how can it say T&T football and they are standing in front of a GB flag. I know it was before our independence but we still had our own flag and country just under the GB rule.

I've seen that 1927 mentioned on ttffonline.com, but it makes no sense if football was definitely being played before that, and other sources for example the match programme vs England say otherwise.

Here is the old Trinidad flag used up to 1958.

the motto on the emblem reads "She is content to make treaties and unite peoples." in Latin.
But I see no reason why a picture would be fake just because they used the full union jack.

I don't think Boyd was still playing in 1908 - he's dressed in a suit in that photo, not in the player's uniform.

Sam,
It could not be 1927. How come we celebrated 100 yrs of football in 2008. Also, how do you expect TT to have its own flag  in 1908 when it was a colony. Every colony had the union jack on their flags. Australia and NZ still have the union jack

That is what the web page said I found it on.
I'm going to open a thread on the old flags on the entertainment and culture board.
