EPL Relagation thread.
« on: May 24, 2009, 07:58:02 AM »
Sunderland, Hull, Newcastle and Boro.

Two out of 4 to go down.

To be honest Boro doesn't have a chance. They need Hull to lose, Newcastle to lose or draw and then they have to beat West Ham ( a team with a tight defence) by 3-5 goals depending on whether Necastle draws or loses.

The real drama of course is what United does. They will play a weak side, probably weaker than the side the played Everton. I really wish Ferguson would play a strong side so people wouldn't run they mouth.

I remember when a weak side loss at home to West Ham, a couple years ago, I feel it for Sheff. Utd but United have a Champions League in 3 days ( as opposed to 10 days in most seasons) and Barcelona rest they whole side. Hopefully the second stringers will beat Hull and nobody would complain but I could see Hull at least drawing.

For the rest of games I can't see Newcastle or Sunderland winning. But I can see Newcastle drawing and Hull avoiding defeat to send  Newcastle down. All these teams have been piss poor so the table might well end up the way it is now.

In all the debate about weakened sides on the final day peopel does forget that l through tthe season teams play weakened/uninterested teams under different circumstances. Whether the game falls before a CL or Cup game. Or whether yuh play a team that already achieve safety and have nothing to play for teams have been playing weak teams all throughout teh season.
THE WARRIORS WILL NOT BE DENIED.

This ent EPL, but the team with the best name of all time - Sc**thorpe just beat Millwall to gain promotion to the championship division.

BTW, that name switch does still confuse me. The first division becoe the premier league, so then it was epl, 1, 2, 3 etc

Now the 2nd division is Championship, so is EPL, Championship, 1, 2..

All that renaming eh covering up the truth, EPL =1, Championship =2 and 1 = 3. Yuh could call it league 1, but is the damn 3rd division!

Sunderland vs Chelsea
Sunderland cut-ass book. They finishing this game with 10 men too. Is only left to see who helping them in the other matches.

Hull vs Man U
Man U winning this one even with the youth squad. 2-1.

West Ham vs Middlesborough
West ham is a strong side, but Boro is a better side than the results suggest. Which is to say, they will be up 1-0 until the 80th minute, when they give up 2 quick to lose 2-1.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle
As long as Joey Barton not playing, Newcastle have a shot to finish with 11 men on the field.
As long as Shearer is the coach and not on the field, Newcastle have a shot to make the playoffs next season in the Championship.

Blackburn Rovers vs West Brom
West Brom done have they Championship bus schedule map out. They might come out just to kick-up Bolton men because that is what yuh does feel to do every time you see Bolton on a field. Rest some king-fu on them.

So the end result is that they all lose, the table remains the same and we can look forward to another Season of shit from Sunderland.

haha true.... all things being relative.

Keeps things interesting- Hull will think they have a chance.  The other relegation-maybes will not be happy about it, but the tigers and the neutrals have something to look forward to.

Why the Setanta broadband broadcast is ahead of the FSC tv broadcast ?
And by a good few minutes.
In any case, Newcastle out of the relegation zone - for now.

As it stands, N'castle and Boro looking likely to go down...another 45 to go.

I wonder if they will make up the ground at half time if they can squeeze all the advertising in, and shorten the half time commentary..
