Taken from the TrinidadExpress

Quote
This phenomenal performance by Team T&T surpassed any other, since they won a mammoth 94 medals which included 46 gold, 31 silver and 17 bronze medals.

T&T also swept four of the six age group high point trophies via Tyla Martin (11-12 female), Jabari Baptiste (11-12 male), Joshua Romany (13-14 male) and Christian Homer (15-17 male). Additionally, Martin, Romany and Homer swept the FINA High point awards for T&T.

Easily our most dominant performance in recent memory. Alot like the teams of the early 90's. Swimming in the region has improved but it is still relatively weak in comparison to the north american meets and those in europe. We are however moving closer to the standards of the South American countries. It will take some time still for our junior swimmers to attain global success as they are forced to endure the rigours of academic life in secondary school in Trinidad, where extra lesssons take priority at the age of 16 and 10 training sessions a week wittle down to 5. That is what is holding back the majority of kids from reaching their true potential at senior level.
Success will never take you by surprise.

saw this in the express
"Carifta athletes honoured
Cumberbatch appeals for new track at Crawford Stadium
"
Swima allyuh wasn't part of that T&T team ? Was the swim meet a completely seperate event from the Carifta games ? Shouldn't all our TT youth teams be honoured all together ? I little confused...

Carifta track is a different meet. It is not like the Olympics or CAC where it is a 'games' type of competition. The two are separate with separate venues locations and organizing committees.
