Portugal look like they could sneak a couple on the break.

Span controlling the game, but can't threaten the goal.

So said,almost done.

C Ronaldo has never learned how to contribute to his team without trying to be the star. He cannot make the players around him better.
In this regard Kaka and Messi are way ahead of him

Spain looking real good. With the exception of Torres. All the players appear in top form.

They will be disappointed when they lose to Ghana in the final  ;D

Despite all the goals, Villa have some shit to work out he system.
This time he needed 2 point-blank shots, the 2nd with the keeper on the ground to score.

Portugal surprise me today. I really felt they should have come out and attack Spain (especially in the second half), force Spain to defend deep and rely on a counter attack, which is not a game Spain is comfortable with. Spain have real practice and experience against teams that sit back and bunker down. Ok they don't always win, but in recent times they are more successful than not.

I think Portugal worried more about Spain than Spain about Portugal.
The game plan seemed to be sit back and catch them on the counter. That almost worked. They had several good opportunities. Once the goal scored though, They needed to then push forward and weren't set up for it.

Ronaldo is a threat, but isn't the person to control a game. He's a winger, so ends up naturally on the periphery of the game. He needs another threat to get the full impact. That's where they missed Nani.

They could also have used a locksmith to pick the Spain defense (which is a lot better than it appears). The old Deco could have made a difference. The guy on the bench today - not so much.

You willing to overlook this miss, but what about the penalty miss?
He missed the entire goal on that one and he didn't even try to power it in.

I doubt Portugal will beat Spain..Spain slip up in their first game of the tournament but I dont dat see it happening today !!. Portugal is a good team so I can be proven wrong but once Spain play to its strength then a Spanish victory is what I am seeing today.

Hmm did i not say before the game dat Spain will win ?  ;D...they slip up first game of the tournament and people was ready to write them off, but they still managed to reach quaterfinals. not bad for the European Champions..
