I like how most artists are actually taking the time and writing a lot of lyrics for their songs. Instead of just hearing jump and wave, jump and wine in most of the song. Good change in the music for the last few years.

Good Carnival season for Soca but compared to recent seasons this year was mediocre. 2011 was still the best of the last six to seven years in my opinion. Songs like 'Trini', 'Wotless' and 'Head Nice'

I have a friend who is no fan of anything Soca after the early '90s. In 2011, he was the first one to tell me that the Soca would be really nice that season. It was he who alerted me to Benjai's "Trini" before I had heard it.

I agree, it was the best season for Soca in recent memory.........
