Good stuff... should be a good game.  Salt Lake City is far enough from the border that we shouldn't have to worry about bags of urine  :)

Add another game in September and 2 in October then I will be impressed ... It's a good start but the fact is 4 games are on offer , 2 in each window. We have to play 4 , it's as simple as that

You have an opponent to offer them?  It never fails to amaze me how people like to bitch about the TTFA not scheduling games, like they could just walk into a supermarket and pick games up off the shelf.

na BM..let Bakes sit there and think mediocrity in 2015 is acceptable.

Excuse time done, WCQ's later this year , no more sympathy from anyone.

Get it done, 4 games of good quality, hopefully at least 1 at home in the HCS where the TTFA won't forget this time to book it and let's give the senior team a f**king chance to get the best prep for qualifiers. They deserve that.

What is the state of the MNT?  In a tight international window, why should one of the top teams in the region... not even the world, the region... why should they play Trinidad and Tobago, of all teams.  When you have a good answer come back and tell me all about yuh "planning."  Allyuh men apparently clueless as to how Trinidad is perceived by would-be opponents.  Arranging a friendly is a two-way street, and 'planning' is but a very small component in that process.

It's not about excuses or mediocrity, it's about being realistic.  There isn't money to host a team in Trinidad, and any team which agrees to play you abroad has to pay you.  So why should a quality team spend money hosting the Soca Warriors?  But it have more pokers in the fire so we'll see what fruit their efforts yield.

nobody said they have to play Brazil or Germany but those windows must be used... I can't believe you even asking to be realistic in a WCQ year when friendlies are so important for a team.

And this is directed for all to read such as the Minister of Sport. He has the power to assist the team and allow the TTFA funds to be able to "plan" friendlies.

World Cup qualifier year people. EXCUSE TIME IS DONE. Get your f**king heads around it and let's get it done.

Also a certain promise from the minister that all Senior team matches both friendlies and competitive will be LIVE and DIRECT on tv for all to see has yet to come to life.

I can only hope we the fans can watch the Gold Cup and remaining friendlies and qualifiers live from the comfort of our homes for the rest of the year.

Mexico include Jonathan dos Santos, Guillermo Ochoa, clubs confirm
ESPN STAFF

Despite not yet having named a new coach or officially announced a team, Mexico has recalled Spanish Primera Division players Jonathan dos Santos and Guillermo Ochoa, their respective clubs confirmed on Monday.

Mexico has yet to make an official announcement, but Villareal announced on its club website that El Tri have recalled midfielder Jonathan dos Santos for the two friendlies set for Sept. 4 vs. Trinidad-Tobago at Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sept. 8 vs. Argentina in Dallas, Texas.

Argentina's call-up includes Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez in the same squad used for Copa America.

Malaga, meanwhile, confirmed that goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has been recalled for the matches, which are FIFA dates. Ochoa helped Mexico to Gold Cup victory.

The Mexico Football Federation on Monday announced its restructuring program at the hands of incoming president Decio De Maria, who took over for outgoing chief Justino Compean on Aug. 1.

Former national teams director Guillermo Cantu was named general secretary while Santiago Banos, former auxiliary coach to Miguel Herrera, will head up the national teams. Hector Gonzalez Inarritu will take Rafael Mancilla's post as president of the referee's committee. Banos confirmed on Tuesday that he will not be coaching in an interim role.

"It is a complex project," De Maria said during a news conference amid questions about the coaching search. "Today we can't make any comment about who will be the next coach, but we are working to improve this project."

De Maria said the federation has already done an analysis but added that the decision regarding a new coach is not being taken lightly and said coach would be contracted with the 2018 World Cup in mind.

Mexico, the 2015 Gold Cup winners, face a 2017 Confederations Cup qualifying playoff on Oct. 10 vs. the United States, which won the 2013 Gold Cup. The grudge match will be played at the Rose Bowl, in Pasadena, California.

The United States missed a chance to qualify directly for the CONCACAF region's lone Confederations Cup berth after being eliminated in Gold Cup semifinals last month. The 2017 Confederations Cup will be played in Russia.

"Our goal is to get the best project for national team direction in place," De Maria said. "We are not closing the door on an interim coach. All of us care about winning the Confederations Cup qualifying match in October and that is what we are working on. This administration's priority is to get to the World Cup and play well there."

Critics faulted Mexico's performance at the 2015 Gold Cup, where they finished second in group play and advanced to the final against Jamaica only after winning two knockout-round matches with the help of late penalty kicks awarded in controversial calls.

Two days after the win in Philadelphia, Mexico's first major tournament victory since 2011, De Maria's administration voted to sack coach Miguel Herrera after Herrera scuffled with a TV reporter who had been critical of Herrera.

Herrera told ESPN he still believes he is the best candidate for the job. Michael Laudrup, as well as former El Tri coach Ricardo La Volpe are reportedly in the picture, after Marcelo Bielsa and Jorge Sampaoli have reportedly distanced themselves from the position.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti will be the interim coach of Mexico for up to four games, according to Mexican Football Federation president Decio de Maria.

Mexico’s Televisa to film documentary in T&T.
By Shaun Fuentes (Guardian).

Mexican television station Televisa Deportes will have a crew in Port-of-Spain next week to record a documentary on football in T&T ahead of the September 4 international friendly between the Soca Warriors and Mexico in Utah.

Mexico and T&T has a long rivalry and recent string of impressive performances by T&T, in particular the 4-4 draw with El Tri at the CONCACAF Gold Cup has brought much interest to T&T.

Among those Televisa will feature include Everald “Gally” Cummings, Steve David, Clayton Ince, Stern John, Angus Eve, Dwight Yorke, Russell Latapy and TTFA president Raymond Tim Kee. The interviews will be conducted by Alberto Lati, a journalist and writer who has interviewed characters such as Dalai Lama, Madonna, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Schumacher and Roger Federer.

The documentary will be aired to millions of viewers through Televisa’s main platforms in Mexico, Latin America, United States and Canada.

Doubt Joevin will get called up. Yesterday he pulled his groin and was taken off. He is doubtful for this weekend's game. So given that this is just a friendly and it is very early in the international break I doubt he will make the trip.

Marquez in, dos Santos brothers out for Mexico
By Kyle McCarthy (FOX Soccer)

Mexico interim manager Ricardo Ferretti included veteran defender Rafa Marquez and omitted Giovani and Jonathan dos Santos from his 23-man squad to face Trinidad & Tobago and Argentina next month.

Tigres UANL boss Ferretti revealed his first squad since his unveiling as temporary El Tri manager on Monday. His selection drew heavily from the Mexico squads compiled for the Copa America and the CONCACAF Gold Cup as expected, but his decision to leave out the in-form dos Santos brothers ensures at least two significant changes at the start of his four-game tenure.

Villarreal midfielder Jonathan dos Santos excelled in the center of the park for Mexico during the Gold Cup last month, while LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos is in the midst of a fine run of form since joining the MLS side earlier this month.

Their absences create some clarity up front -- regular selections Javier Hernández, Raul Jiménez, Oribe Peralta and Carlos Vela will vie for two berths -- and leave room for alterations in midfield. Ferretti named Tigres wingers Javier Aquino and Jesus Dueñas and FC Twente winger Jesus Corona to offer more options in the wide areas, while Luis Montes returns to the side to strengthen the central midfield choices.

Marquez is perhaps the most notable change in defense. The seasoned Hellas Verona defender captained Mexico at the Copa America and missed out on the Gold Cup triumph. His restoration ensures plenty of options in the heart of the back four with Héctor Moreno and Francisco Rodriguez both included as well.

Ferretti made his most sweeping changes in goal with Club América goalkeeper Moises Muñoz and Toluca starter Alfredo Talavera preferred to Gold Cup number Guillermo Ochoa and regular number two Jesus Corona. Ochoa has not featured for Spanish side Malaga in league play this season.

This group will hope to use the upcoming friendlies against T&T (Sept. 4 in Sandy, Utah) and Argentina (Sept. 8 in Arlington, Texas) to prepare for Confederations Cup playoff against USA on Oct. 10 in Pasadena, Calif.

Mexico squad to face Trinidad & Tobago and Argentina

Goalkeepers: Moises Muñoz (Club América), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca)

Defenders: Paul Aguilar (Club América), Oswaldo Alanis (Chivas Guadalajara), Miguel Layún (Watford), Rafa Marquez (Hellas Verona), Hector Moreno (PSV Eindhoven), Diego Reyes (FC Porto), Francisco Rodriguez (Cruz Azul), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres UANL)

Midfielders: Javier Aquino (Tigres UANL), Jesus Corona (FC Twente), Jesus Dueñas (Tigres UANL), Carlos Esquivel (Toluca), Andrés Guardado (PSV Eindhoven), Javier Güémez (Club América), Héctor Herrera (FC Porto), Luis Montes (Club León), José Juan Vazquez (Club León)

Forwards: Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Raul Jiménez (Benfica), Oribe Peralta (Club América), Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)
