This meet is crucial for those who havent met any standards. Below are the athletes who are close or at least have a chance of attaining the standard. Some like Lendore have the standard, but need to show their form for NAAA approval.

*Are almost guaranteed a relay spot based on current form and last performance.

- Deon Lendore  400m
- Darrel Brown  100m 4x100
- Emmanuel Mayers 400mh
- *Emmanuel Callendar 100m
- *Jarrin Solomon 400m
- Daneil Telesford 100m 4x100
- *Reyare Thomas  200m
- Kai Selvon  200m, 4x100m
- Shakeil Waithe Javelin
- *Josanne Lucas 400mh 100mh
- *Janeil Bellille 400mh
- *Sparkle Mcknight 400mh
- Wayne Davis 110mh
- Ruebin Walters 110mh
- Ayanna Alexander TJ
- Kamaria Durant 100m 4x100m
- Elton Walcot TJ
- Jonathon Farinha 100m, 200m
- Kayelle Clarke 100m 4x100m
- Jamal James 100m 4x100m

Not sure if all of them will be there. But the ones who are in Trinidad will most likely appear.

This list is just an idea of who can still make Beijing. Add if you can think of anyone else.

I know Soca might have a more detailed list that also includes times. If you have one Soca, please post. It will be a good guide to use for next week's meet.

I believe that Solomon ran the World Champs individual 400m qualification standard of 45.50 this weekend.

According to info posted on the NAAA TT facebook page Jarrin Solomon finished in 3rd place overall in the 400m dash in Switzerland at the La Chaux De Fonds Meet, with a time of 45.15. GENERAL SELECTION CRITERIA OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ATHLETICS ADMMINISTRATIONS OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO (NAAATT)

The General Selection Policy is to be read in conjunction with specific event selection criteria (just above).
Both policy and criteria will be used as a basis for team selection.

1) The Selection Committee shall only have regard to athletes’ performances that are properly verified and recorded by the Records Committee/Statisticians of the Association. The following relevant information of the performances must be forwarded.

 The date of the competition
 The weather conditions
 The place of competition and the type of track surface
 The method of timekeeping used
 Wind Gauge readings where appropriate
 The date of birth of the athlete if in specific age group events.

In furnishing information to the selectors the Records Committee/Statistician should provide them with performance data from overseas, if the information appears in journals recognized by the Association of Track and Field Statisticians, or the information relevant to such performers are verified by the controlling body of the meeting.
Clubs/Schools are asked to ensure that wind gauges and electronic photo are available and used at all meetings where athletes are likely to be considered for National Teams, if available video recording should be used to record performances.

2) Except where a selection trial is held for selection and the particular selection criteria for the team states otherwise, no one performance or place in a particular event or competition, shall result in an athlete gaining automatic selection as a member of a team.

3) To be selected in any Trinidad and Tobago team to major competitions, it is a requirement that the athlete will have participated in the following competitions:

a. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO CHAMPIONSHIP relevant to the intended competition (unless an exemption is granted for not competing -

4) During the period between the announcement of the team and the date of departure, athletes must demonstrate that they are physically fit, be performing well and likely to compete at a level appropriate to the competition(s) for which they have been selected.
During this time, assessment shall be made from time to time as to the athlete’s standard of fitness, and their preparation for the event. Such assessment shall be directed and under the control of the team Management in conjunction with the Selectors. If as a result
of such assessment, the athlete is not deemed to be at a level required to retain their place in a selected team, the Manager shall immediately notify the Chairman of Selections who
will then confer with the selectors on the athletes’ position in such a team.

5) Where a designated trial is to be conducted immediately prior to the announcement of the team, all athletes wishing to be selected must compete in such a trial in the events for which they wish to be selected, unless they have an unusual and acceptable exemption agreed by the Executive. Exemption will usually only be grated where the athlete is in university overseas or has a medical reason for not competing, or has a special compassionate reason. These performance target guidelines will be set taking into account the standards set by the IAAF; and after
consultation with appropriate organizations that have a vested interest in the teams. The selection panel will monitor a close watch of statistics for likely performance level at the event.
b) No Wind-aided performances will be considered. Particular regard shall be paid to standards attained in meetings such as the Trinidad and Tobago Championship and other designated meetings or trials.
c) At the time of releasing the performance target guidelines, an indication will be given on the probable date for announcing the team.
d) Where more athletes better the performance target guidelines in an event than entry places. (i.e. 3 for World Championship and Olympic and 2 for other events)
The selectors may use the placing at the Trial or Championship to name the athletes who will compete.
e) Athletes must meet the basic International event entry standards for the specific
events, before consideration is given to other selection criteria relative to the Association’s performance target guidelines.

8) INTERNATIONAL TEAMS
When an invitation is received by the Association for a specific number of athletes to compete overseas or for an athlete or athletes to compete in a particular event, the Association shall refer the invitation to the selection panel.

Lucas set to compete at Falcons Invitational
By Clayton Clarke (TrackAlerts.com)
July 10th, 2015 6:08pm

T&T’s first ever female World Championships medallist, Josanne Lucas (Tobago Falcons) will face a quality field in the women’s 400m hurdles at the first ever Falcons Invitational Last Chance Meet at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Saturday, 11, July 2015.

Lucas, who won bronze in the event at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Germany, will be up against 2008 World Junior silver medallist Janeil Bellille (Abilene Wildcats), Barbadian 2013 World Youth silver medallist Tia-Adanna Belle and US Collegiate SEC bronze medallist Sparkle Mc Knight (Memphis Pioneers) in one of several competitive fields in the one day meet. She will be looking for her second straight victory at home after edging McKnight for the national title on June 28 as both hurdlers clocked 56.76 in a two woman field. Bellille was expected to compete but opted out after retaining the 400m flat title, the day before.

However, the trio will be hoping to go under the qualifying standard of 56.20 for this year’s World Outdoor Championships in Beijing, China from August 22-30. Tia-Adanna Belle will also be seeking to book her spot on the Barbados team to the event. Tomorrow’s field will also include American Dynasty Mc Gree and Kou Luogon.

Reigning world men’s champion, Jehue Gordon (Memphis Pioneers) is listed to compete in the men’s one lap race but organizers could not confirm his participation. In his absence, reigning CAC Championships gold medallist, Emmanuel Mayers (Rebirth) is the favorite for the title, after his runner-up finish to Gordon at the National Champs on June 28 ahead of Gordon’s Memphis team-mates World Junior sprint hurdles finalist Reubin Walters, Kern Alexis, Isiah Phillip and teenager Tauren George (Pt Fortin New Jets). Olympic semifinalist Eric Alejandro (Puerto Rico) and American Trevor Brown will be hoping to upset the local runners who will be seeking the World Championships standard of 49.50.

The women’s 200m and men’s 100m races will also be eye-catchers. In the ladies' half lap sprint Olympic finalist Semoy Hackett (Zenith) leads the start list with her 22.81 clocking in Florida in June ahead of Kamaria Durant (Simplex) who sped to a pb of 23.08 in the heats at the National Champs. Both have bettered the 23.20 World Champs standard. However, National champion Reyare Thomas (Abilene Wildcats) will be seeking to get a legal qualifier after she sped to a wind-aided 22.97 (+2.2) to take the national title ahead of Durant.

The men’s 100m will feature Olympic and World Championships multiple relay medallist Emmanuel Callender (Memphis Pioneers) up against former World Junior champion and record holder Darryl Brown (Abilene Wildcats) who would be looking to rebound from his false-start in the National Champs. National 100m second place finisher Marcus Duncan (Rebirth), 2010 World Junior sprint relay bronze medallist Sherman Allsop (Concorde) and and last year’s Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games silver medallist 19 year old Levi Cadogan of Barbados are in the line-up in and will be aiming at the World Championship standard of 10.16.

Many of the national athletes are using the meet to finalize their preparations for upcoming regional and international championships. This country’s mixed relay teams for the CAC Age Group Championships set for the Hasely Crawford Stadium on July 18 and 19 - the quartet of Malika Coutain (Pt. Fortin New Jets) , Xea Bruce (Toco Titans), Daniel Qui (Toco Titans) and Jordan Pope (Cougars) will contest the 11-12 age group relays, while Safiya John (Zenith), Antoinia Sealey (Pt. Fortin New Jets), Avindale Smith (Abilene Wildcats) and Joel Andrews (D’Abadie Progressive) are slated to contest the mixed 13-14 age sector.

Carifta champion Akani Hislop (Zenith) and Akidah Briggs (Toco Titans) will be competing in their final competition before leaving for the IAAF World Youth (Under 18) Championships in Cali, Colombia from July 15-19. Hislop is listed to contest the men's 200m and Briggs, the women's shot put

Carifta gold medallists Andwuelle Wright (Zenith), Portious Warren (Toco TAFAC) are among the favorites for their events. Wright took gold in the boys under 20 long jump at this year’s Carifta Games in St. Kitts/Nevis and will be up against national champion Dwaine Herbert (Dovers) and former Carifta medallist Che Richards (Oasics), Sean Michael Stafford (TTDF) and this year’s boys under 17 bronze medallist, Clement Campbell (Memphis Pioneers). Warren will face three time Carifta under 17/18 gold medallist, Chelsea James (Tobago Falcons) World Masters gold medallists Palo Seco’s Gwendolyn Smith and Geraldine George in the women's shot put. Wright, Warren and James have been selected to compete at the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton, Canada from July 31 to August 2.

The Rebirth duo of 2005 World Youth finalist Jamaal James and 2010 double Carifta champion Nicholas Landeau will lock horns again in the men’s 800m after James took the national title in 1:49.36 with Landeau 0.05 seconds behind. The pair was short of the Pan Am Games standard of 1:49.00. Kendis Bullard (TTDF) and five time Carifta gold medallist, Mark London (Zenith) will be out to upset the top two.

The men’s shot put will feature current Carifta boys under 17 champion, Isaiah Taylor (Abilene Wildcats) battling against former winner Kenejah Williams (Tobago Falcons) and Shervorne Worrell (UTT). National record holder Akeem Stewart (Tobago Falcons) will not be coming.

In the men’s discus, Pan Am Games picks national champion, Quincy Wilson (Rebirth) will face runner-up, Emmanuel Stewart (Zenith).

The first event (mixed 11-12 4x100m relay)  is scheduled to start at 3:00pm and the last race (men's 4x400m) set to get underway at 6:40 p.m.

400 hurdles winner: Janeil Bellille (Abilene Wildcats)

Reyare Thomas and Kamaria Durant pushed each other to personal bests at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, yesterday.

Thomas earned a slight edge in the Falcons Invitational Last Chance Meet women’s 200 metres event, the Abilene sprinter just getting the better of Durant in a battle royale. But both athletes were “winners” on the day. Thomas grabbed gold in 22.82 seconds, while Durant clocked 22.83 for silver.

Thomas and Durant will run the half-lap event at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada later this month, and would both be buoyed by their first-ever legal sub-23 clockings. The times are also well inside the 23.20 seconds IAAF World Championship qualifying standard.

The Falcons Invitational men’s 200m was also keenly contested, Neon Trackers sprinter Dan-Neil Telesford emerging victorious in 20.56 seconds. Telesford had a significant lead, coming off the turn. Kyle Greaux, however, was stronger on the straight, but not strong enough, Telesford holding on for the victory. Fast-finishing Greaux was forced to settle for silver in 20.59.

Janeil Bellille underlined her class with a dominant run in the women’s 400m hurdles. The Abilene athlete won in 55.68 seconds, the third fastest time she has ever produced in the event and more than half-a-second faster than the 56.20 IAAF World Championship qualifying standard.

Levi Cadogan was unchallenged for gold in the men’s 100m dash. The Barbadian sprinter clocked 10.48 seconds, shutting down at the end. Nathan Farinha was a distant second in 10.66.

Sade Williams won the women’s 400m in 53.52 seconds, from Alena Brooks (53.94) and Romona Modeste (54.16). Coming off the final bed, Modeste had the edge on her two rivals. It was Williams, though, who had the most gas left in her tank, the Barbadian motoring past Modeste to claim the title.

Defence Force quarter-miler Deverne Charles topped the men’s 400m field in 48.03 seconds. There were victories for Rebirth field athletes, Quincy Wilson, Hezekiel Romeo and Kyron Blaise. Wilson threw 56.29 metres for a runaway victory in the men’s discus. Romeo’s 17.23m effort earned him gold in the men’s shot put. And Blaise disturbed the sand at 7.41m for top honours in the men’s long jump.

Portious Warren completed a throwing double. The Toco TAFAC athlete triumphed in the women’s discus with a 38.90m effort, and then topped the shot put field with a 15.17m throw.

And in the women’s 100m hurdles, Air Bon Sonics athlete, Deborah John won in a wind-aided 13.58 seconds, forcing Jeminise Parris to settle for the runner-up spot in 13.85.

National champions Reyare Thomas and Janeil Bellille were the top performers at the inaugural Falcons Invitational-Last Chance Meet at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo earlier today (Saturday 11 July).

Thomas won the women’s 200m in a 22.82 seconds (+0.8 ), dipping below the 23.20 qualifying standard for this year’s World Championships in Beijing, China from August 22-30. The victory is the second straight for the Abilene Wildcats sprinter after she won the national title on June 28 in a wind-aided 22.97 seconds (+2.1), just over the allowable limit of 2.0. Her 22.82 is a new personal best erasing her previous best of 23.17 set in 2014.

Thomas edged Kamaria Durant (Simplex) into second place, as she did at the Nationals with Durant also dipping under the World standard and setting a new pb of 22.83 to improve on her pervious mark of 23.08 set in the heats of the national champs. Two time Carifta under 20 champion Kayelle Clarke (Pt.-a-Pierre) jogged home in third (25.02).

Bellille (Abillene Wildcats) came out on the top in the women’s 400m hurdles in 55.68, running under the World standard of 56.20. The 2008 World Junior silver medallist was hoping to be pushed by her former training partner, Sparkle Mc Knight (Memphis Pioneers) and 2013 World Youth silver medallist, Tia-Adanna Belle of Barbados and 2009 World Championships bronze medallist, Josanne Lucas (Falcons). However, Lucas did not start, Belle dropped out of the race with just under 200m left and McKnight trailed behind in 59.11. Instead, Belille ran down the lone male in the race, teenager Tauren George (Pt. Fortin New Jets), who was first to line ahead of Bellille in 55.19.

Dan-Eil Telesford (Neon Trackers) turned the tables on national champion Kyle Greaux (Abilene Wildcats) in the men’s 200m, taking the crown in 20.56 ahead of Greaux (20.59). Telesford was 0.03 seconds off his pb of 20.53 which he set in finishing third at National Champs on June 28 behind Greaux.

Portious Warren captured the women’s shot put and discus titles

Reigning CAC Junior and Carifta girls under 20 shot put champion Portious Warren (Toco TAFAC) secured the women’s shot put and discus title. Warren first landed the discus in 38.90m ahead of multiple World Masters gold medallist Geraldine George (Palo Seco) 35.84. The St. Augustine Secondary student then stepped over to the shot put circle to land gold in 15.17, relegating George to second again (11.34) and  Jael Lewis (Palo Seco), (10.59) to third.

World Youth selectee Akidah Briggs (Toco Titans) also competed but used the 3kg shot instead of the 4kg used by the women competitors and had a best mark of 13.91. Briggs along with T&T's other World Youth team members, Carifta 200m gold medallist Akanni Hislop (Zenith) and US-born Khalifa St. Forte, will depart for this year’s World Youth Championships on Monday (July 13).

The Championships begin on July 15 and run until July 19.

Jerod Elcock (Abilene Wildcats) missed out on a sprint double. Elcock first won the boys' under 18 200m in 22.75 (-1.2), leading an Abilene sweep of the top spots as his club mates Renaldo Moore (23.34) and Jahi Hernandez (23.35) followed him home. However, in the 100m. Elcock was forced to settle for second (11.08) as Carifta boys under 18 long jump bronze medallist, Clement Campbell (Memphis Pioneers) was first across the line in 11.03.

National champions Quincy Wilson (Rebirth), Deborah John (Air Bon Sonics) and Hezekiel Romeo (Rebirth) added the Falcon Invitational gold to the their national crowns. Wilson took the men’s discus with a throw of 56.29, over 1m short of 57.78 winning effort at the national champs. Taking the silver was Keon Francis (UWI) 46.03m while Micah Mc Nish (Striders) claimed the bronze with 43.35m. Romeo putt the shot out to 17.78, to improve on 17.04m effort to secure the national crown. His winning mark was over the Pan American Games standard of 17.75. However, his efforts may have come too late, as the national team has already been selected and is due to leave for this year’s Games in Toronto, Canada on July 17.
The track and field competition at the Pan Am Games will be contested from July 21 to 26.

John cruised to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in a windy 13.58 (+3.3), slower than her 13.37 clocking to win the national crown. National long jump gold medalist Dwaine Herbert (Dovers) did not have such luck, as he had to settle for third with a leap of 7.19 (-0.9). Former double Carifta jump champion Kyron Blaise (Rebirth) leapt to gold with a distance of 7.41 (-0.3), an improvement on his fifth place finish at the National champs.

Barbadians Levi Cadogan and Sade Williams landed the men’s 100m and women’s 400m sprints respectively. Cadogan took the second of two heats in 10.48 ahead of Nathan Farinha (Abilene Wildcats) 10.66 and Micah Ballantyne (Alpha) 10.72. Williams topped the women’s one lap field in 53.32, outsprinting Alena Brooks (Memphis Pioneers) 53.94 and early race leader Romona Modeste (Abilene Wildcats) 54.16. The Barbados teenager was short of her national junior record of 52.39 set at the Barbados National Championships on June 19.
