The chemistry of this team still needs work but individually they are better than Bermuda. Which means nothing because its Bermuda. 8 years ago we would have demolished them. Their game has risen dramatically. Us....not so much. If by some miracle they actually qualify they could be decent at full strength if handled properly.

chemistry eh and williams had them guys training together  for how long ???

its difficult to create winners playing in comfortable practice conditions. Practices set the stage, but champions are forged in the fire of competition. At this level International competition is the gold standard for testing skills, character, and intelligence. In the last 6 months CR has played Argentina, Qatar, Morocco and Mexico, among others. In the last 6 months we played Bermuda, Haiti, and St. Lucia. Length of time spent preparing is good, but you also need good opposition, good players, and good coaching.

The TTFF/TTFA hasn't been able to put all these pices together since 2009.

This is a half strength, unexposed squad. I think Brian Williams is a better coach than this result shows.

Sad to say but this is likely to be the only point we'll get in this tournament.

Team good enough but not the proper practice matches at the right level. Team had a camp in Costa Rica and players fly into Costa Rica after missing entire camp. Not the best for chemistry.

No one has the killer attitude, some one have to take the responsibility to finish off Bermuda. Today no one want to put that on their shoulders.

The substitutions made indicate we didn't have influence coming off the bench, but rather had more or less the "status quo" coming off the bench. (While ah on that: ah doh know the player well but St. Hillaire adjusted quickly coming off the bench. Could be interesting to see what he has to offer from the start of a match with time to grow as the match grows).

 ;)

Congrats Kathon, on scoring in the opener. :applause:

U-20 Men draw 1-1 with Bermuda.
TTFA Media.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 20 men secured a point after playing to a 1-1 draw with Bermuda in their opening match of the CONCACAF Under 20 Men’s Championship in at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium in Costa Rica today.

T&T went ahead in the 22nd minute when Kathon St Hillaire shot home following a clever assist by Nicholas Dillon but Bermuda grabbed an equaliser in the 69th minute through Oneko Lowe.

El Salvador stunned hosts Costa Rica in the other group game later today with Roberto Dominguez snatching a 65th minute winner.

T&T would be thinking that the three points was theirs for the taking after creating the better openings of the two teams. Skipper Jabari Mitchell had two decent chances but couldn’t find the target. First he saw a failed volley attempt and then a decent crack from a free kick which clipped the crossbar.

After the match head coach Brian Williams didn’t hide his disappointment with his team being unable to take three points from their opening fixture.

“We came into the match with a lot of expectations of taking the three points but unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way for us today. What this means it we have made things harder for us and after the game we had a chat and the players realise that. It is important they know that going into the next two games,” Williams told TTFA Media.

“But I cannot fault the players for a lack of effort and hard work. I thought they gave that in the game but unfortunately it didn’t bring us the result we would have all liked. Now we will recover from this and approach the next game with a strong sense of belief that we can get the job done.” Williams added.

T&T faces host nation Costa Rica on Wednesday.

With a lil better composure in front of goal and we would have won,we had nuff practice matches for the coach to take note of everything. In the end it's the same old story,"we should have won". :(

Composure and cutting edge.

On the balance of play we should have won by two goals easily but the decisions in the attacking third and a goalkeeping mistake made the difference in the game.

I not giving any team a free pass in this tournament. Costa Rica and USA already lost their opening games showing the same deficiencies as T&T.

Let's continue to support the team but the results will speak for themselves.

Ah keep singing this team praises but dem youths have to be vicious in front of goal. Dem too relaxed, doing everything right but the FINISH.

We must and WILL support them but they need to show more controlled aggression and DESIRE for 90 minutes.

Lawd please!!!

T&T Under 20 Men look for first win.
TTFA Media.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Men Under 20 team will be looking to secure their first victory of the CONCACAF Under 20 Men’s Qualifiers when they face a difficult task against hosts Costa Rica at the National Stadium in San Jose at 9pm TT time (7pm in Costa Rica).

T&T are ahead of Costa Rica on the table with a point after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bermuda but the hosts are wounded after their 1-0 defeat to El Salvador and the contest is expected to be a gripping one as both teams need at least a win to maintain a strong chance of advancing to the next phase.

“Our draw against Bermuda has obviously made things difficult and our plan now is simple. We have to win the game against Costa Rica in order to really be in with a good chance of going through. After El Salvador defeated Costa Rica, the group has become a bit opened as all four teams still have a good chance but anything but a win for us will make things even harder for us,” Williams told TTFA Media.

“But I am optimistic that we can get it right. Our players know the task before them and I think once we stay focused and avoid too many errors and also take our chances on goal then we could pull it off,” Williams added.

T&T’s only victory over Costa Rica at any level of Men’s World Cup qualifying was a 2-0 win over the Central Americans at the CONCACAF Under 17 qualifiers in Panama in 2013.

“We know it will be a difficult contest because Costa Rica needs to win also and they are at home but getting a result is not impossible for us.”

So far the USA have also lost, going down 1-0 to Panama on Saturday. Mexico have won their two games, 3-0 over Antigua/Barbuda and 5-0 over Canada. Haiti also has a win after beating St Kitts/Nevis 5-1.

The top two teams from each group in the classification stage qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, with the group winners also advancing to the final to decide the champions of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship.

The top two teams from each group in the group stage advance to the classification stage.

Tiebreakers for group play (including ties among third place teams):

Greater number of points in matches between the tied teams
Greater goal difference in matches between the tied teams
Greater number of goals scored in matches between the tied teams
Greater goal difference in all group matches
Greater number of goals scored in all group matches
Drawing of lots

The competition will determine the four CONCACAF representatives at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea.

The tournament will also be used to determine which two Caribbean nations participate in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.

I forgot Montel Joseph was this young.

[Reminds me (not Montel specifically, but his reappearance on international level yet again) of how poorly we performed in Canada during the Pan Ams in 2015. Go back and look at the names on that squad and scratch yuh head].
