Great experience for the players now they and the coach can take away areas to improve and build on from the opportunity.

Jabloteh leaves here with their heads held high and having represented T&T well. Some players with promise on the squad. Also was impressed with the tactical and emotional discipline on display. The more foreign exposure, the better.

Glad to hear that

Watching the Impact now. One of the players I've been encouraged to watch is #15, a defensive mid. Playing a Salvadoran squad that had a rigorous warm-up. End to end stuff with El Salvador having launched two missiles of a shot from top of the centre circle (age appropriate field in use).

And so it came to pass: 1-0 to the Salvadorans. The goal that made the difference was another missile from half field. Impact kpr saw it late but was almost there.

The Impact had a few players smaller than Jabloteh (#7 and one other + #13 who entered as a sub late in the proceedings. #15 was not of particular note during the game. He didn't play poorly, but he didn't have the freedom of the park.

Was reasoning with one of the Impact parents after and he agreed that the Salvadorans "played like men". Fuh real.
Very professional approach.

As a whole, Scotiabank is to be congratulated for sponsoring this event.  On the other hand, I don't know how much local outreach Jabloteh did with the local Scotia, but there seemed to be room for investment to tie up some loose ends.

The boys received another opportunity to match up against their peers in the region. This afternoon, they played a friendly versus Herediano of Costa Rica.

Meanwhile, Comunicaciones from Guatemala, the squad that eliminated SJJ from the tournament, spanked Sporting Kansas City to advance to the final.

Why June 11? According to the league's schedule, competition concludes on July 2. Has CONCACAF set June 11 as the deadline so as to effect its logistics?

My partner coaching Police U13 team and he told me the TTFA asked them to go since they're unbeaten in the league right now. I told him they can't go to Mexico with a name like Police but then again it might work in their advantage.

He contacted me this morning and I was trying to help him find the rules for the tournament. I searched all over and we both couldn't find it. I told him to contact Concacaf. Anyone on here knows the rules form last year even eg subs, etc.?

Ah wonder what Jabloteh feels about that? Nuff football left to be played and they in 2nd. Anything could happen in the matches down the road.

This competition is the pinnacle competition regionally in this age group. If that's the case, why not anticipate the calendar and start the U13 competition to suit a timely determination of who wins ... rather than having a domestic competition from which the "winner" might not be the winner?

:frustrated:

To answer your question: there should be NO reason for him to be scrambling to find the rules because CONCACAF provides all the necessary guidance to each participating FA.

By the way, which U13 team plays under Police? What team is it actually?

Yea Palos that was the closest I found as well. Guess he was trying to be proactive but I was surprised not to find the rules on the website.

Seeker he said the team is made up of players he and our former HS coach, coach from around the country and Police asked them to represent them in the national U13 league. I know even though they were asked to go, nothing is set in stone until everything is official knowing how things operate but the 2nd rounds started last weekend and their team is unbeaten.

Since they had to determine a representative before they league was over, the leader at the end of the 1st round was chosen.

Would have been immensely helpful to have stated this prior to the start of the competition. But, the decision-makers failed.

Either way, Jabloteh set a bar for Police. Looking forward to seeing them qualify out of the group.

CONCACAF

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) today announced the schedule for the upcoming 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF U-13 Champions League. The third edition of the competition kicks off this Saturday, August 5, and runs through August 12.

The invitational tournament, featuring sixteen of the region’s top under-13 clubs representing ten different CONCACAF Member Associations, will be played in its entirety at the Mexican Football Federation Headquarters, in Toluca, Mexico.

"At CONCACAF, we are working every day to more meaningfully assist in the development of the game across our region. Now entering into the third edition of this competition, the Scotiabank U-13 Champions League has been an unqualified success and model development initiative."

“Scotiabank aims to support organizations that are committed to helping young people reach their infinite potential,” said John Doig, Executive Vice-President & Chief Marketing Officer, Scotiabank. “We believe this is an investment in the long-term security, stability and growth of our communities. Scotiabank is a proud sponsor of youth futbol in the international countries where we do business. These sponsorships provide Scotiabank the opportunity to support young people in futbol. We wish all the teams the best of luck!”

In Mexico, the sixteen participating U-13 clubs will play in round-robin format for the group stage with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals, third-place match and final. Click here to view the full schedule.

FULL-TIME: Police FC 1 ADFA San Salvador 1. Goal by ADFA San Salvador scored early in the first half. Goal to equalise by Police FC came with about ten minutes left to play in regulation.

Portmore United (JAM), the only other team at the tournament from within the CFU region, fell to Boca del Rio (MEX) 3-0 in one of the day's opening matches.

Within first 15 minutes, Herediano scored three on the Whitecaps. Clock on 20 minutes now. The unfortunate thing is that the Vancouver keeper is yet to dive!
