Khan: Changes affecting WI team
« on: September 28, 2016, 03:09:33 PM »

JELANI BECKLES Wednesday, September 28 2016

FOLLOWING the West Indies embarrassing 3-0 T20 series defeat against Pakistan, former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies manager Omar Khan believes the changes in the team recently have impacted their performances. But the current manager of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) runners-up Guyana Amazon Warriors added that the team does not seem motivated to perform.

Prior to the start of the West Indies/Pakistan series, which is being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) fired West Indies coach Phil Simmons after 18 months at the helm. In early August, Darren Sammy was sacked as captain of the West Indies T20 team, months after leading the regional side to the World T20 title.

Asked whether these changes will have a negative impact on the team Khan said, “I would not say negatively but I would say that definitely it has an impact. The players need to understand that at the end of the day West Indies has a reputation they are the world champions in this form of the game. At least they should be motivated to play for some purpose.” Khan added that West Indies are lacking cohesiveness. “I am not seeing that purposefulness and that commitment by the players to go out there and represent the West Indies as they should. You are seeing the team looking disjointed, they are not motivated, they are not together and unified to go out there and play the type of cricket that we expect of them as world champions in this format of the game.” The West Indies will try to rebound when they face Pakistan in a three-match ODI series starting on Friday. Following the ODI series the teams will face off in three Test matches.

It's about two years this going on now.

Post Indian tour, they manufactured reasons not to select Big BRavo and Pollard for the WC.
The took away the Captancy from Ramdhin for both TT and the WI.

Sammy get fed up at the T 20 WC and voiced his displeasure on TV '-DROPPED.

Simmo fed up with not being able to select the team he wants - FIRED.

Bajan selectors have a TEst Capt who has not performed in 6 consecutive matches but he MDC still on the side..oh yes, he's Bajan.

Braithwaite hasn't performed in his last three four T-20 but he is Bajan too and they already have issues with KP, DJB, Ramdhin and Gayle  so they will not Captain.

These fkkers will run out of people to Captain, play and Coach the WI.
