CALYPSONIAN Samuel "Brigo" Abraham has died. He passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Brigo had been warded at the hospital for some time, being treated for the end stage effects of Alzheimer's disease.
Brigo's career began in the 1960s, and he became known for his facial contortions during his performances. His most popular sings include, Mama Popo, Limbo Break, Do So Ent Like So, After Carnival, Voodoo, Obey, and Walking in the Dark.
In November 2015, Brigo "died" on social media for about 20 minutes, after a fellow Calypsonian declared that he had passed away, and posted a tribute about his life and career.
The post generated many comments from Brigo fans, who know him as much for his music and comedy as for a series of television and newspaper ads, where he extolled the benefits of using the canned insecticide "Det".
