W Connection take on Defence Force in FA Trophy.

W Connection stayed on course for their fourth trophy of the season when they hammered National Super League team WASA Clean & White by a 6-2 margin in a FA Trophy first round match at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, on Wednesday night.
Already the winners of the 2005 T&T Pro League title, W Connection have also captured the Toyota Classic, the FCB Cup and were runners-up in the T&T Pro Bowl.
And today, W.Connection will be back on the field looking for a FA Trophy semi-final place when they take on Pro League rivals Defence Force from 6 p.m. at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.
W Connection had an easier time in their first round match than Defence Force had against Maraval Youth Academy.
It took penalty kicks to give the Army a 3-1 victory after Maraval Youth Academy of the National Super League held them to a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation 90 minutes.
In contrast, W.Connection got a brace from Randolph Jerome, their Guyanese striker, and one apiece from Brazilians Williams Oliviera and Jose Luis Seabra, Nigerian Stephen Iyiaka, and youngster Clyde Leon to brush off WASA. The FA Trophy competition continues on Sunday with two semi-final matches.
