W Connection take on Defence Force in FA Trophy.
T&T Express Reports.

W Connection stayed on course for their fourth trophy of the season when they hammered National Super League team WASA Clean & White by a 6-2 margin in a FA Trophy first round match at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, on Wednesday night.
Already the winners of the 2005 T&T Pro League title, W Connection have also captured the Toyota Classic, the FCB Cup and were runners-up in the T&T Pro Bowl.
And today, W.Connection will be back on the field looking for a FA Trophy semi-final place when they take on Pro League rivals Defence Force from 6 p.m. at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.
W Connection had an easier time in their first round match than Defence Force had against Maraval Youth Academy.
It took penalty kicks to give the Army a 3-1 victory after Maraval Youth Academy of the National Super League held them to a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation 90 minutes.
In contrast, W.Connection got a brace from Randolph Jerome, their Guyanese striker, and one apiece from Brazilians Williams Oliviera and Jose Luis Seabra, Nigerian Stephen Iyiaka, and youngster Clyde Leon to brush off WASA. The FA Trophy competition continues on Sunday with two semi-final matches.

FA-Trophy Results:

San Juan Jabloteh 3 v Pele Pele 1

Defence Force 2 v Maraval Youth Academy 2
Defence Force won 3-1 on penalties

W Connection 6 v WASA Clean & White 2

North East Stars 2 v Couva Players United 1

Saw the game at the COE.  Both teams looked decent.  The edge on play goes to Connection.  The highlight of the game unfortunately was the horrible refreeing.  Both ways.  Its always unfortunate when a ref plays a major role in deciding an outcome.  Game ended 1-1 in regulation and into extra time.  The Army won on PKs.  Congrats.
