ANTHONY WOLFE kept his chances of making Trinidad and Tobago's 23-man World Cup squad alive by scoring a double as CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh outclassed newcomers Superstar Rangers by a 4-1 margin, at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Tuesday night, to keep the lead in the T&T Pro League football competition. After three rounds of matches Jabloteh have a maximum nine points.


Named in coach Leo Beehakker's 24-member squad, Wolfe scored two late goals to give Jabloteh all three points from what until then was a close encounter. National midfielder Aurtis Whitley gave Jabloteh a 30th minute lead, which they held until six minutes into the second half (51st) when Peter Prosper netted to make it 2-0. Dean Pacheco, an ex-T&T midfielder, scored four minutes later (55th) for Rangers to keep the teams close. Jabloteh held on to their slender 2-1 lead until the 84th minute when Wolfe got the first of his two goals. He scored again in added on time to see Jabloteh to their third straight victory this season.

After dropping points in a goalless draw with Starworld Strikers on Sunday, defending champions Vibe CT 105 W. Connection bounced back to winning ways when they defeated Tobago United 3-0 with goals from Clyde Leon (60th), Nickolson Thom (63rd) and Andre Toussaint (81st). Connection are now second in the League on seven points, while Joe Public 's 3-0 win over Defence Force moves them to third on six points.
