Joe Public hit St John’s for six

JULIEN NATHAN struck a double as Joe Public trounced St John’s United 6-0 in the quarter-final phase of the Emerald Plaza and Apartments-sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) FA Trophy Competition recently.
Nathan found the back of the net in the 40th and 80th minutes, while Rasheed Griffith also netted a pair, in the fifth and 38th minutes.
Kernel Osbourne (30th) and Mohammed Nakhid (86th) got the other items in the one-sided rout.
The other three Quarter Final meetings ended in 2-0 victories, for Malabar FC, La Horquetta SA and Boss FC respectively.
Malabar got the better of Valtrin United with a double from Michael Hospedales, in the 14th and 71st minutes; La Horquetta were rewarded with items from Omeku Barbour (52nd) and Dennison Francois (87th) and Boss FC got goals from Nkosi David (44th) and Anthony Applewhite (71st).
The semi-finals will be contested on August 16 with Malabar FC battling Boss FC at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima from 4.15 pm while, at 5 pm, La Horquetta SA will be hosting Joe Public. And the final is carded for August 26 at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.
