CHIKE CARRERA netted twice on Saturday last as Cumuto Strike Force prevailed 2-0 over Daybreak United at Park Street in Morvant, in Group A of the Premier Division, as Week Eight of the Churches Football League took place.
With two games left to go, Cumuto are already assured of claiming top spot in the group.
Also in Group A, KOB Kings and Greater Malabar Christian Centre battled to a 2-2 draw at the Crown Street Recreation Ground, Tacarigua on Monday.
Brandon Basdeo and Kevon Alleyne found the back of the net for KOB Kings while Malabar got their items from Jason Mills and Kayode Williams.
In Group B of the Premier Division, D’Abadie Deliverance Sanctuary hammered Woodbrook AIC 5-0 at Constantine Park in Macoya and Global Encounter Ministries whipped Westend 3-1 at the Carenage Recreation Ground. There was a double-header at the Bon Air Recreation Ground in Arouca, in Group A of the First Division.
In the first contest, Strictly FX A-Men earned a 4-2 win over Father’s House. Dion Cuffie Joseph notched a pair for A-Men while Ateba Philips and Shelwinton Driggs chipped in with one apiece. For Father’s House, Kevin Stephens and Mensa Perouza got their names on the scoresheet.
In the latter meeting, Llewellyn Dove, Brendon Cuffie and Kenneth Brown were the goal-getters for Genesis as they edged Divine Encounter Fellowship 3-2. Dale Farfan and Shavey Williams responded for Divine Encounter.
Nicholas Marcano registered a beaver-trick while Devon Thomas scored the other as VPA Overcomers cruised past Bethel FC 5-2 in a Group B First Division duel at the Valencia Recreation Ground. Getting the goals for Bethel were Theon Francis and Joseph Jayton.
Also in Group B of the First Division, Peoples United Fellowship defeated RCC 3-1.
