Three different players were on target as visiting Defence Force edged D’Lime Bar Goal City 3-2 in their rescheduled T&T Football Association National Super League encounter at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Tobago on Sunday.

The hosts were first to settle and took a 1-0 lead through Kerlon Ferguson in the 13th minute but Ronald “Sharky” St Louis drew Defence Force level in the 32nd, before Seon Barry netted in the 39th to restore Goal City’s slim advantage at the half.

The second-half saw a more determined Defence Force which eventually levelled the match in the 66th minute via former national defender Michael Edwards followed by the match winner from Dexter Thonhill, five minutes later.

With the win, only its second from eight matches, the “Teteron Boys” climbed to fourth on the table with 11 points, the same as Stokely Vale and five behind idle leader WASA FC, with both clubs having a match in hand while the duo of Petrotrin Palo Seco and La Horquetta are joint second with 14.

In the second match at Plymouth, Stokely Vale needed a 90th-minute strike from Krishawn Joseph to salvage a 1-1 draw with second from bottom Real Maracas which took a 26th minute through Aaron Peters.

Las Lomas and Malabar FC completed a miserable weekend for the four Tobago clubs in the competition, by coming away with victories against 1976 Phoenix FC and Bethel United.

At the Canaan Recreation Ground, Jiron Francis found the back of the net with five minutes left on the clock to earn full points against 1976 Phoenix while John Belgrave late double capped a come-from-behind 3-1 triumph over Malabar over Bethel at Montgomery.
