Anthony Parris and former national player Nigel Daniel were both on target as Club Sando blanked host Stokely Vale 2-0 open a two-point lead at the top of the T&T Football Association (T&TFA) National Super League competition on Sunday.
Going into the match, Club Sando and WASA were joint top with 25 points from ten matches each, however Parris (25th) and Daniel (76th) netted to grab all three points for the visitors at the Plymouth Recreation Ground, Plymouth. WASA was held to a 0-0 draw at its St Joseph Ground, by fellow East club, Malabar FC.
With the results, Club Sando improved to 28 points, two more than WASA while Petrotrin Palo Seco jumped to third with 23 points and a match in hand after a 2-1 win over La Horquetta SA at Palo Seco with all the goals coming just before the half.
Tomorrow (Wednesday), league matches will take a break for the first round of the qualifiers for the T&TFA FA Trophy competition before resuming on Sunday with a full slate of matches.
