SIX TEAMS will be battling for qualification spots in the 2009 Super League season, with the round-robin competition starting tomorrow.
Leeds FC, Queen’s Park, East/West Coaching School, TTEC, Biche United and Georgia United are the six teams vying for places in the forthcoming Super League season.

According to a media release issued from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) on Monday, “the TTFF Executive Committee shall determine the number of clubs to be promoted to the Super League 2009 (event) and the number of clubs to be demoted from the National Super League to their respective regional associations (this year).”

Thirteen teams participated in last year’s Super League contest, with the Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 squad emerging victorious in their debut season with 54 points.

They edged Joe Public by a superior goal difference, while the last three places were occupied by M&M Harvard (21), Crab Connection (19) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (four).

Tomorow, Leeds will meet Queen’s Park and East/West will oppose TTEC in a double-header at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna from 5 pm while, from 3.30 pm, Biche will face Georgia.

Matches will also be contested this weekend, as well as January 15, 18 and 22.
