Bon Accord Government, the 2009 Tobago primary schools boys’ champions, made a successful start to the Atlantic LNG Primary Schools Football.
League knockout competition when they scored an impressive 6-0 victory over New Grant Government. There were victories too for other Tobago teams.
Montgomery Government beat Valencia South Government 4-1 and Roxborough Government’s girls slammed St David 5-1 to secure quarter-final berths.
At the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, Port of Spain girls’ champions Patna River Estate Government sneaked past VOS Government 1-0 in sudden death penalty kicks, after the game ended in a 1-1 deadlock. In the second game, Claxton Bay Government edged a gritty St Agnes AC 1-0.
La Horquetta North also advanced to the quarters with a 3-0 drubbing of Cedros Government. And at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, Manzanilla/Nariva Government beat Barataria AC 1-0.
