Malick City FC continued its fairytale run to the start of the Japs-sponsored Women’s League Football (WoLF) Premier Division, on Saturday, when the club humbled the National Under-17 Women’s team 3-0, for its third consecutive win.

An unfortunate own goal from the national outfit initiated an easy victory for Malick, when closed off the match with efforts from former national captain Ayana Russell (53st) and former Barry University player Ashlee Alonzo (70th).

The victory sent Malick up to the top of the standings with nine points, as the only club to win all of its matches thus far, while the National U-17s slipped down the ranks with its second loss in four matches. The team won and drew one match for the season, which it is using for preparation for the CFU U-17 World Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, St Augustine FC was the only other team to keep its unbeaten run alive with a 5-1 whipping of Step by Step. The win saw St Augustine leap over Step by Step to sit third at the end of the match-day.

Senior national team standout Patrice Campbell carried her good form from the team’s last match top score a hat-trick, while Celeste Thomas and Chelsea Gibbs completed the rout. Jo-Marie Lewis converted a consolation spot kick for Step by Step.

Real Dimension, led by a double from Dernelle Mascall and a solo effort from Tiana Bateau brushed aside third-from-bottom St Ann’s Rangers, to sit joint top with three wins and one loss for the season. Tobago WFC and Defence Force, both yet to record a point for the season were scheduled to play, but the match was postponed.

WoLF Release.

Malick City and St. Augustine now stand as the two Premier Teams that are still to be beaten after Match Day 4 of the National Women's Football League Competition.

On Friday, Malick City came up against the National U-17 Team and showed no mercy against the young Soca Princesses. With Senior National Defender, Ayana Russell,  returning and addition of foreign based players Nathalie Stahlman and Emory Holland; Malick City was very businesslike in making sure that they earned 3 points before leaving the field on Friday night.

The first goal would come in the 6' when National Defender, Abishai Guy refused to head out the ball and instead chose to clear with her foot and resulted in an own goal.

The U-17s were able to have some positive moments with good combination passing and flank play but just could not finish. In the second half,  Malick City would extend their lead when Russell, got pass her marker and placed a shot into the far post in the 53'. Ashlee Alonzo would seal the victory in the 60' to ensure that Malick continued their unbeaten streak.

In other Premier Division matches, St. Augustine got the better of their First Division Finals nemesis, Step by Step F.A. In last year's Big 8 First Division Final, Step by Step defeated St. Augstine 1-0 to be crowned the First Division Champions, but now that both Teams are promoted to the Premier Division, St. Augustine made certain to play to their full potential with a 5-1 victory.

Again, National Youth Mid-Fielder, Patrice Campbell would be a menace to the Step by Step Defence and scored a hattrick (2, 41, 68)to help secure her teams victory. Other goals came from Celeste Thomas (80') and Chelsea Gibbs (85').

In the second match of the double header played at the Dibe Recreation Ground, Real Dimension would face off against a young feisty St. Ann's Rangers Unit. Real Dimension would win 3-0 but Rangers made them work for every goal scored. Goals were scored by Tiana Bateau in the 7' and Dernelle Mascall, 2013 U.W.I Campus Games Female Footballer, scoring 2 goals in the 44' and 83'.
