Marli Greaves scored a first-half brace as Defence Force climbed to third spot on the Under-14 Division table of the T&T Pro League Youth and Reserve Divisions with a 4-1 whipping of Police on Wednesday at Dibe Ground, Long Circular Road, St James.

However, it was Twon Grannum who got the opener for Defence Force in the sixth minute followed by Greaves’ double in the 15th and 25th for a 3-0 lead before Elisha Taylor pulled a goal back for Police to trail 3-1 at the half.

Within four minutes of the re-start, Jelani Simmons got a fourth item for Defence Force to seal victory, its fourth in five matches for 12 points, the same as Pt Fortin Civic Fc which has played a match more and one behind joint leaders San Juan Jabloteh and North East Stars.

In their Under-16 meeting, both Police and Defence Force shared the points in a 2-2 draw which earned the latter its first point in five attempts while the Lawmen are now joint third on eight points from six matches with DirecTV W Connection and San Juan Jabloteh.

At the top of the Under-16 table is St Ann’s Rangers with 13 points from five matches, three clear of North East Stars.

And in the Under-18/Reserve competition, Akeem Roach fired ina second-half brace for Defence Force to earn a come-from-behind 2-1 triumph over Police.

Aaron Stewart had given Police a 12th minute which it took into the break, only for Roach to draw his team level in the 51st, and the winner, in the 66th.

It was only the second win for Defence Force in six matches to lie fifth on the stable with Rangers and Police, all on six points while Jabloteh leads with 13 points followed by W Connection with 11 both from five matches while Caledonia is third with nine, but from a match more.

There will be no matches this weekend because of the Easter Holiday weekend.
