Digicel T&T Pro League’s Central FC coaches and staff met up with Manchester United coaches, Kevin Ward and Eamon Mulvey as they took a break from the Atlantic LNG football and life skills camp at Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Saturday.

The “Sharks” were at the stadium to play a training match against the National Under-20 squad, preparing for the Concacaf Championship next month in Jamaica.

Director of Youth & Women’s Football, George Romano said “It’s great to get the opportunity to pick the brains of coaches from around the world because in football, you can never stop learning, and obviously, guys like Kevin and Eamon receive excellent training at Manchester United.”

National Under- 20 assistant Coach, Dale Saunders, who is also assistant to Zoran Vranes at Central FC and Sharks Equipment Manager also chatted to the English Premier League clubs coaches.

“Being around professionals from a club like Man Utd can only help our staff to step up their levels of professionalism” said Romano. “For up and coming young coaches like Dale, the experience is invaluable.”

Saturday was a busy day for Pro League leaders, Central F.C.’s players and staff as well as Leston Paul, Kaydion Gabriel, Qian Grosvenor, Marcelle Francois and Keion Goodridge all attended IBB Global’s “Day For Special Needs Children” together with team manager, Kevin Jeffrey.

The event, conceived by Gillian Wall, CEO of the IBB Global Group, was designed to give special needs children a fun day out full of special surprises.

“Gillian is a good friend of Central FC, along with her Powerful Ladies Of T&T group” said Central FC Operations Director, Kevin Harrison. “When Gillian asked if some of our players could attend and teach the children some skills, we were delighted to accept.

It follows on perfectly from our recent Differently Abled Coaching Clinic, which will be followed next year by our Differently Abled Coaching Clinic which will feature coaches from English Premier League club, Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, striker Rundell Winchester joined Darko Michael and assistant coach, Mark Leslie in Couva for the second Christmas Hamper Food Collection at JTA Supermarket.

“It’s a busy few weeks for the club” said Harrison. “This week will also see the launch of the first Central F.C. public information commercials.” Harrison said that the short videos tackle road safety issues such as encouraging the wearing of seatbelts and warning against texting while driving.

“The ads are supposed to be humourous but with a serious message. We hope that they will get lots of slots on TV, radio and in movie theatres this Christmas, and that, in some way, they help to save lives.”

Central FC will hold its final Christmas Hamper food collection this Saturday in Chaguanas. Anyone wishing to donate tinned or non perishable food can contact the club on 679-5060.
