CUNUPIA FC cruised past Enterprise Life Sports 6-1 on Monday to advance to the final of the Central Football Association (CFA) Ramsingh Sports World-sponsored FA Cup tournament.

At the Frederick Settlement Ground in Caroni, Cunupia got a hat-trick from Lester Joseph, in the 52nd, 82nd and 83rd minutes. Also finding the back of the net for Cunupia were Nical Stephens (14th), Dillon Walker (50th) and Marcus Ellis (70th). Akil Nichols got the consolation for Enterprise, in the 59th.

The earlier game of the doubleheader, between Harlem Strikers and Arawak Combined FC, ended in controversy.

The scores were locked at 1-1 in the 60th minute, with Richard Seetahal scoring for Arawak in the seventh minute, while Keron Fox replied in the 38th.

However, on the hour-mark, according to a media release issued by the CFA, “referee Oswald Myers asked Roger Campbell of Arawak Combined to leave the technical area because of his abusive language. He refused and play could not be restarted.”

CFA general secretary Stephen Bartholomew confirmed that the matter is before the Tournament and Competition Committee and is being referred to the CFA Disciplinary Committee.

In related news, Crown Trace FC hammered Gairy John Coaching School 12-0 in an Under-16 contest. Isaiah John scored five of Crown Trace’s tally, while Aaron Kennedy notched a double. Also getting their names on the scoresheet were Josh Cesair, Jourvel Guadeloupe, Joe John, Kwame Duprey and Quinnel Gittens.
