THE St Anthony’s College Ground in Westmoorings will come alive on Saturday as the College’s Old Boys host the 13th annual Martin Anatol Day from 2-10 pm.

And the school will also be honouring former top-rated midfielder Ricardo “Ricky” Aleong on the day.

Persons willing to participate in the afternoon of football can walk with their football gear and a $100 registration fee, and they will be entitled to a jersey, food and drinks. According to the school’s long-standing football team coach Nigel Grovesnor, “this is one of the days in my life (that) I totally enjoy, because I see most of the players I have coached over my 26 years at St Anthony’s College.

“It is just magnificent to see the guys lime and talk about the good old days in school and playing for the school,” he added. Anatol, who played in the team’s first-ever Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Intercol game, drowned while attending a university in England.

“We are also asking his friends and family to come out on (Saturday) as his brother Marlon has a team made up of all his friends to play,” said Grovesnor.

Another ex-St Anthony’s student, Justin Rahael of the food chain Jus Grillin, will sponsor the day’s agenda, as well as the school’s team, which will be called “Jus Grillin Tigers”.
