Boosted by their 2-0 win over Puerto Rico in their opener on Monday, T&T Under-20 Soca Warriors will be confident of securing a spot in the 12-team Concacaf U-20 Championships when they meet Haiti in a top-of-the-table Caribbean Football Union (CFU)  Championship final round Group A match.

This will be at the Waterhouse Stadium, Kingston, from 5 pm (6 pm T&T time) today. Speaking after his team’s win on Monday over the Puerto Ricans, coach Ross Russell said he was anxiously looking ahead to today’s encounter with the Haitians, 2-1 winners over Curacao in Monday’s second Group A match, which could well determine the eventual group winner.

A win for the young Soca Warriors, who will be without injured Adan Noel (hamstring), will most certainly put Russell’s men into the 12-team Concacaf final round next year in Puebla, Mexico, from which the top four nations will advance to the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.

“It’s quite obvious that this game against Haiti could decide the group and we know that if we can get a victory then it will put us through to the next round. But we would like to win all three games and we ‘ve started on the right note with the win today (Monday),” Russell said.
