JOSHUA MARSHALL and Kareem St John won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards when the Maloney Football League held their third annual Father’s Day Five-a-Side Football Tournament on June 19.

Marshall and St John led Four Stars and Six Young Stars to the titles in the tournament played at Building Four Savannah, Maloney Gardens.

Marshall found the back of the net three times to guide Four Stars to the Under-18 trophy. Building Two was second and Pain and Sorrow finished the tournament third. Saleem Henry was also instrumental for Four Stars, while Denzil Commissiong and Evans Small of Pain and Sorrow were both outstanding. Swift ended fourth, followed by Old Men, Limers and Herb Boys.

St John’s brilliance on the field led Six Young Stars to the Under- 14 title. Despite the performances of Jordan Muskett and Cameron Nelson Building One Youths had to settle for second place. Building Two Shotters ended the tournament third and Keshawn Marshall led Four Youngsters to fourth place. Young Limers ended in fifth place.

The sponsors of the tournament were Massy Foundation, National Lotteries Control Board, Subway and JGS Supermarket.
