WATERLOO STARLETS under- 16 girls footballers left for Canada for a two-week tour.

The team, part of the Waterloo Institute of Soccer Players (WISP), will be the guests of Waterloo Minor Soccer Club of Waterloo , Ontario, Canada.

The WISP girls left on Thursday for what has become a traditional exchange which began 12 years ago in 2004.

WISP president Raymond Jurawan indicated that players from the Diego Martin Central Girls Club were invited and seven of their players and two officials are among the 23-member squad.

Jurawan said he was pleased the Diego girls could make the trip and noted that they received assistance from the Ministry of Sport.

A series of exhibition matches has been scheduled against the Waterloo Minor Soccer Club and other Ontario Clubs who are part of the Canadian Soccer Association.

Also on schedule for the WISP is a visit to the Mayor of Waterloo to present gift tokens from the Couva/Tabaquite/ Talparo Regional Corporation.

WISP president Jurawan said the meeting of the councils will soon result in the twinning of the Waterloos.

The visitors will also be guests of the Canada Caribbean Association.
