NEWCOMERS Newbirth FC scored a thrilling 3-2 victory over Carib FC as action in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association continued.

After a 1-1 half-time scoreline in their Western Conference game, Akeil Painter put Newbirth ahead only for veteran Gellineau Gill to equalise.

But Joel Waldron struck the winner for Newbirth who earlier got their lead off goal from Rodney Rose. Anil Maharaj got the first for Carib.

Another new team was not so fortunate, however, as WASA shut out Don Brathwaite Coaching Academy 2-0 on goals by Nigel Hart and Dorian Highley.

St John’s United crushed Malta Carib Alcons 4-0 with Jimel Hernandez, Arthur Peters, Ayunde Cghinyelu and Daron Castillo each getting one goal. And Real Maracas blitzed Sunshine United 3-0 with Roger Henry, Shane Glasgow and Seon Charles doing the scoring.

There was also a comfortable victory for Malick Togeherness who dumped Barataria Ball Players 5-1 with Ronnie McShine scoring a hat-trick of goals.

Deter Harewood and Mark Chin got the other goals while Kern Warner scored the consolation.

In Under-12 action, Young Lions mauled Creek SCC 5-2 with Victor Alexander and Victor Fransawer both scoring doubles and Nicholas Dick the other.

Maurice Prince hit both goals for Creek.

Sunshine United and Memphis played to a 0-0 draw, but Joe Public drubbed Tunapuna Titans 4-0 with Owen Munro and Renaldo Fransawar getting two goals each.
