Friends International made an impressive debut in the Over-40 division of the Arima Football League last Friday evening when they slammed four unanswered goals past Dingle Boys at the Arima Velodrome.

Larry Raymond and Anthony Jacob each registered a double to give their team full points from the encounter.

The final score, however, was not an accurate reflection of the contest as Dingle Boys spurned several chances to put their names on the scoresheet.

In the feature match of the programme, goal-scoring proved terribly difficult for both Temple United and colourful Fish Alone, who failed to find the net after 80 minutes.

On Monday evening, Cosmos registered their first victory this season with a convincing 4-0 win over Edinburgh 500 Touring Team. Following their goalless draw against Sweaters in the opening match of the season, Cosmos showed marked improvement and surged to a deserving victory.

A double strike by Rodney Busby was the basis upon which victory was achieved as Shawn Miller and Glen Rampersad each added to Cosmos' tally.

In the curtain match of the evening, Sweaters again failed to find the net in their second appearance this season as they battled to a goalless draw with Memphis FC.

However, on Wednesday, Dale Douglas and Finbar Mollineau put Fish Alone on the victory trail this season as the popular team swept past highly-fancied Mausica United 2-0 before a large crowd.

It was the opening fixture of the evening and much entertainment was provided as there were several scoring opportunities for both teams.

By contrast, no goal was scored by either Benefica or Moosai's Sports who brought down the curtain on the evening's programme.

This evening at the same venue, Maracas will clash with Temple United from 6 p.m., following which Cosmos of Sangre Grande will go in search of their second victory against Dingle Boys of Red Hill, D'Abadie.
