Moosai's Sports kept in contention for major honours in the Arima Football League's "Over 40" division with a slender 1-0 victory over Mausica United on Wednesday evening at the Arima Velodrome.

Kicking downfield in the curtain raiser that evening, Moosai's made full use of the steady wind at their backs and their persistence was rewarded when Timothy "Terrific" Antoine's right side cross was misjudged by the Mausica custodian and lodged in the back of the net.

Maracas United then outgunned Benefica 3-2 in an exciting battle during which fortunes changed regularly. On target for the winners were Colin Sylvan who netted a brace and Sherwin Jones. Steve Pierre and Chris Harewood replied for Benefica but their efforts were inadequate.

On Monday, Memphis Sports Club and Dingle Boys had to settle for a share of the points as they fought to a 1-1 draw. Irwin Luvine and Emile Morris were the marksmen for Dingle Boys and Memphis respectively in what was a fitting result.

Later, Hearty Foods Arcadians Friends International pounded in three goals against Sweaters.
