Sando U-18’s fail to show against Public

However despite its first defeat, Sando remained at the top of the standings with 15 points from its six matches, three ahead of Public which has won four of its five matches.

Meanwhile Mayaro Spurs claimed its second win in Group B, getting past Cap Off Youths 2-0. Russel Alfred broke the deadlock, finding the net in the 37th minute, before Emmanuel Campbell put the icing on the cake with a strike in the 79th minute.

Sando which is the only unbeaten team, claimed its sixth win, edging out bmobile Joe Public 2-1 in the Under-16 division.

Shaquille Davis opened the scoring with a 26th minute strike to put Sando up 1-0. The score would remain the same until the 67th minute before Wasiym Stewart put his name on the score sheet to make it 2-0.

Public pulled back a goal compliments of Keron Brooks a minute later, however the division leaders were able to hang on until the final whistle.
