Duane Muckett and Aaron Auguste were both on target as 1st FC Santa Rosa downed Club Sando on Tuesday to take the early lead in the race for the Under-16 Division title in the National Youth League on Wednesday.
Muckett found the target in the 32nd minute and Auguste, 11 minutes later for Santa Rosa to take the three points. The other teams in the five-team round-robin series are bmobile Joe Public, M&M Harvard and Queen’s Park.
The other teams which failed to qualify, Point Fortin CC, Palo Seco, Moruga, Phoenix and Cap Off Youths are also involved in a five-team series.
However, in the Under-18 Division final round, Moruga Spurs are the front-runners after it won by default from Harvard on Wednesday. With the win, Spurs improved to four points from two matches after drawing its opener with Club Sando, 1-1.
Joe Public and Phoenix are yet to play a match. Queen’s Park blanked Point Fortin 3-0 in Group B action and WASA were awarded three points for its clash with Cap Off Youths.
