Carlon Hughes scored a second-half brace as Guaya United came from behind to edge 1976 FC Phoenix 2-1 to reclaim top spot in the CNG National Super League Premier Division on Thursday.

Starting the day in second spot, two points behind Defence Force, Guaya faces a tough battle in 1976 Phoenix at the Canaan Ground, Bon Accord.

And it was the host which took the lead in the tenth minute through Shelton Williams in the tenth minute which it took into the break.

However, Guaya turned things around in the second-half, with Hughes getting his team level in the 55th and then firing in the winner in the 78th minute to push his club to 28 points from 13 matches, one ahead of Defence Force which has a match in hand.

Petrotrin Palo Seco and Marabella Family Crisis Centre, jumped above Phoenix in the third and fourth respectively with wins over Bethel United (2-1) and Real Maracas (3-1).
