WASA FC condemned Economy Strikers to their first loss of the 2009 bmobile National Super League to hand unbeaten Joe Public FC a three-point advantage in the standings.
WASA's Stevon Stoute doubled up in the second half at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground, Economy Strikers's home base, on Sunday, to ensure the 3-0 victory, after Mervyn Brooks handed the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute.

Kevin Jagdeosingh struck for Strikers in the 83rd after Stoute made it 2-0 in the 66th, but Stoute fired home again to put the result beyond doubt.

Joe Public also kept up their winnings ways, coming from behind to edge T&TEC 2-1 at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva and stretch their lead to three points with a perfect 12 points from four matches.

Anthony Thompson and Dorion Robinson hit the "Electricity Boys'" net twice in the second half, after Kefim Williams had given them the early advantage.

Club Sando moved into third place with nine points, just a goal behind second-placed Economy Strikers after overwhelming Carenage United 3-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, while WASA are now fourth on seven points.

The other results on the day saw Defence Force salvage a 1-1 draw away to Harlem Strikers at Frederick Settlement, while St Francois Nationals also held Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) to a similar score-line.

East West Coaching School travelled to Tobago, where they were stopped by hosts 1976 FC Phoenix 1-0 at Canaan, Bon Accord.

Next Sunday, the top two teams, Joe Public and Economy Strikers, clash for the Super League lead at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya from 4 p.m. in what is expected to be the main contest of the round.
