Jarique Williams got the lone goal as Play Whe San Juan Jabloteh edged lone title challengers Caledonia AIA 1-0 to claim the Malta Carib Youth Pro League Under-13 Division title on Sunday.

Going into their clash at the NUFGW Ground, Valsayn, Jabloteh led the table with 43 points from 15 matches, five more than Caledonia with three matches left for each team and needed one win from its remaining schedule to wrap up the crown.

The San Juan youngsters did not have to wait long for their goal though as Williams scored as early as the second minute after which his team held on for the win to push its total to an unassailable 46 points from 16 while Caledonia stayed on 38 points and cannot catch the table toppers with only two rounds left.

Jabloteh could be set for more celebrations as its Under-15 players moved to within a point of capturing their age-group title after clobbering Caledonia 6-0 capped off by a late double from Levi Clarke, in the 56th and 72nd minute.

This after Kyle Thomas (19th), Andre Raymond (40th), Rakim Cabie (41st) and Kesean St Rose (52nd) netted for a comfortable 4-0 lead.

With the win, Jabloteh Under-15s improved to 39 points after 16 matches, six clear of Japs North East Stars which needed a 70th minute equaliser from Jalani Augustus to earn a 1-1 draw with Central FC at New Settlement Ground, Caroni after Sherwin Williams’ 30th minute opener.

When matches resume on Sunday, Jabloteh will have a chance to wrap up the division when it faces third from bottom Defence Force while North East Stars tackles seventh spot St Ann’s Rangers.

However, the race for the Under-17 crown looks set to go down to the final round of matches with the trio of news leader North East Stars (35 points), Jabloteh (35) and W Connection (34) separated by a mere point with two rounds to go.

Stars’ got anw goal in the 38th and a 70th minute Ronaldo Francois strike to blank Central FC 2-0 at Caroni and now leads on goal-difference from Jabloteh, which was held to a 1-1 draw by Caledonia.

Dominic Douglas put Jabloteh ahead in the 34th minute but Brandon Semper got the equaliser for Caledonia in the 50th minute from the penalty-spot.

W Connection, meanwhile, stayed in the hunt with a 4-0 thrashing of Police FC with two goals from Ken Bhola (46th, 55th) while Jarod Gordon (65th) and Shobal Celestine (77th) added one each.
